Bleached Cola Tip

Hey Everybody,

I'm sorry I don't have any pictures about this and I know I'm gonna get scolded about this so please take it easy on me! I've searched around but don't see this discussed much.

But the situation is that one of my plants has grown up and is pressing up against my 180W Quad band UFO, causing the top 2 inches or so of the cola to bend at a 90 degree angle.

The top part of the cola that's touching the UFO and is bent seems to be looking good with hairs, crystals (trichomes), and good bud formation. Except for one thing, the bent over part is totally, and completely, refrigerator white in color. It's freaky looking. I'm almost certain this is due to light bleaching.

My first instinct is to cut off the top part, but it just seems like it's not dead, it's just white. I even found one post on the Internet that says that part may actually be more potent due to the high intensity of the light, which I'm not sure if I believe or not.

Has anybody had this experience / problem before? When I harvest would it be OK to smoke? If I did cut if off, would I be doing more harm than good? Should I cut it off?

Any help would be appreciated.

Did it look like this? Its due to the lamp bieng to close to the veggies. Its harmless and the buds will grow out normally but will always have a bleach look. Try raising yur lamp some. I have this prob everytime my lamp is closer than 12", the temps are so cool they wont burn up, just bleach out. So dont cut it off! Let it grow.

Thanks for the reply Dizzle!

Yep, that's it! That's exactly what it looks like. And I've already raised the lights twice after it grew up and touched the light and actually can't raise the lights anymore in my tent. I also, a couple of weeks ago, took a bungee cord and hooked one end to a tent pole and the other to the plant to pull it over (kind of LSTing it), which did help, but the cola continued to grow straight again and to the light.

And I'll let it keep growing.

Thanks again for the reply, I really appreciate it!
