I just recently noticed the lower leaves starting to turn yellow, become soft, and then die off. Ive also noticed a few leaves starting to get brown spots on them and this confuses me as I have a few ideas on the problem but not a definite one. The big fan leaves stems are also turning red, which has slowly started to become more pronounced which never was around before.

I figured the lower leaves are turning yellow which means it needs some nitrogen but the brown spots are confusing as to what would cause that.

when looking at ICmags guide i saw the picture about calciums disease which seems to fit the bill except their leaves are green. so mayb that means its a cause of both nitrogen and calcium?

That looks like a magnesium deficiency to me. Have you noticed any leaf curling? You could be right with your hypothesis of calcium deficiency. However, remember that too much calcium or chlorine and lock up magnesium.

If you can, dissolve 1 tablespoon of epsom salt per gallon of water and feed it to your plant. You can also try foliar feeding 1/2 teaspoon per quart of water.

Otherwise, and only in rare cases, it could be ozone damage.
