but its not easy to find cowhorns here.... thought bull horns wont work

i am gonna brew a horsetail prep to ferment till the lunar eclipse and do it just before

Yea Iv got bamboo tubes for this instead. I figure they'll decompose and leave a brittle she'll of contained nutrients. A highly nontraditional route. I'll put this together in the AM.

Formula A:

-8-10inches of bamboo tubes
-aged manure (gal)
-forest mycellium cultured on leaf mould substrate (qrt)
-Bokashi (cup)
-vermicastings for worm eggs (cup)



Formula B:
-bamboo tubes
-dried agave leaves
-bokashi
-dried kale
-vermicastings
-crushed burned bones previously soaked in vinegar
-butternut squash previously soaked in EMe/mols/water

Formula C:
-Bamboo tubes
-Granual Organic 4-5-5 with trace elements (2cups)
-bokashi (gallon)
-cultured forest mycellium in leaf mould (quart)

I'm encouraging others to experiment with creative recipes and post them here. Maybe they will be worth using. Show some results when the time comes!

I'm not getting all "shaman" on you and bringing up moons amd stuff. I see that as a way of telling time. If I were getting all wildernessed without clocks, I would just follow the moons and night sky. Glad to hear you're interested in BD. What's your growing method currently?

I do outdoors most of the time in the last five years but this year all my plants have been stolen by assholes.
did more than 15 years indoors before.
I have the report of the weekend seminar rudolf steiner held back in the days about biodynamic agriculture. And he says using cowhorns from milk cows.
dunno if you have to follow his advice exactly but I guess he got reasons to not use bullhorns.

Over here they keep the cow horns short because of injury dangers I guess. It would be easier to get bullhorns Id believe at least over here.

But hey I am far far away from being an expert about biodynamics. So who am I to tell you how to work.

Ah well, I'd guess you put them out in the wild? People are pests sometimes haha. Yea idk why its gotta be a bull horn and manure from a lactating cow but I'm just going for the fundamentals. I practice kimchi farming and have interned using various methods. BD is more of a novelty than anything. Compost tea, biochar, and probiotics are the most effective and affordable methods. I think all BD is for really is hummates.

Theres a shop a few hours away that sells BD in little tablespoon size bags and they charged like 20-30$ per baggy! Weird

EMe/BD505:

I collected an extremely full wheelbarrow of decomposing oak and Indian hemp.

I burried this in an unused raised bed in layers with bokashi, beetles, and vermicastings for worm eggs. It should take a long time to decompose so I will leave it over the winter. Because it is in a raised bed it will receive daily waterings from the sprinkler. I also think it will be a good idea to pour bokashi tea on it monthly. Maybe even dig it up and mix some peat to retain moisture and entice mycellium.

More experiments later.

No they were in my garden.
the assholes had a informant who told them when I wasnt at home and me gf was out with the dogs to a horseranch for an afternoon. They used this moment. Gf nearly caught them when shes comming home with the dogs.
was some old fucking bullshit.

And about the horns..... rs said cowhorns from lactating cows no bullhorns.

Guess the store you mentioned above charges that much because a preparation out of one cowhorn is enough to fertilize several acres of land. So you would just need the ammount of the size of your thumb to fertilize a normal sized garden.
but still its a lot of money for a small bag of manure dont matter how its treated imo.

you could use a old steel bike mech/ sprocket and start with dime sized material ...
i buy some preps from the Josiphine porter institute . worth every penny great newsletter too.

The axle will slam on top of the pebble size rocks and powder them. I can put a screen on a lower end so the powder constantly filters out and the rocks keep in high impact with axle. All in all less than 100$ of crap. Probably less than 20$ of parts missing. And the motor was salvaged from a hot tub water pump but its got some torque to it.

Last time I used this kinda design it was the loudest thing for the entire block for 12 hours haha

Bd500 (compost activator) in bamboo tubes and a box. Just experimenting. I added microbes to both and pressed the exposed sides in peat. Then I burried it on top of the other "BD" interpretations.

The npk filled CLAY pots will be a tea addition next year. I doubt they will be hummates rich but rather just fermented nutrients in a very available form.

Yea I kinda forgot about that. Seems like every time I get a bag of it though it spoils in a day. Iv gotten in the habit of eating like half of the bag in a single smoothie just so it doesn't go to waste. The kale I grow gets destroyed by white moth caterpillars...bastards.

For this I need to get whatever wastes I can from grocery store. Like intestines and spoiled veges.

And fish scraps for amino extracts
