Big Bang,White Rino,Gigabud 35 days into 12/12 ..Bud Porn..

Have you had any grows without the co2, to compare to this grow with the home made bottle?

I've been thinking about fixing a few up but..

Haven't seen much results with home made stuff.. most have been with tanks or burners

Hey twils, I have not grown without C02 before, but have done and read alot of research and I figured that it could not hurt to try, I just made it a week ago since its was the 5 week and that is suppose to be the week that the buds really take off so I thought it will help. They have gotten fatter but dont know if its because of the Co2. Made a batch and its still letting of gas,,,I shake it everyday when the lights come on and its still active.

Sweet Steel! I've been wondering if they were really worth it!

I'll have to set up a controlled grow of the same strain, same environment, just one with home made c02 and one without.

The other day I stroked the plants to get a good wif and then put my fingers together and sure enough they were sticky as hell, it made me happy and excited. Crazy how each stain has a different smell. I have the grow box in a spare room and I dont really smell anything outside the room but once in the room it smells dank as hell, thats even with a carbon filter. But then again the grow box is not air tight as it was my first attempt at building one.

OK so last night I was up truing to figure out why my plants leaves were turnig yellow and then grey. I had many people give me answers , Nitrogen defficency, Nute burn, Mag deff and so on and so on. Its up to me to decifer the code. Uncle Ben stoped in and gave his worth and of all the posts it seem that he had the right info for me,,at one point I felt schooled but did not take it personally, it was what it was..a good learning experience.
Today I will flush my plants for 2 days with filtered and PH tested water. Sunday I will top off the res with fresh water and add nutes, I have a 10 gallon res and I normally add nutes for 9 gallons so I keep it slightly under. The last time I remember doing 10 for 10 because of it beening the 5th week and thats suppose to be a critical time from bud production and overall size.Well I guess that I left no room for error in the last batch and I burned my plants a bit so now I will flush.
Uncle Ben mentioned that with his personal experience he has worked out a good reputation with his supplier of nutes, his total NPK was like 35-10-25, which is high but he knows when the plants need certain nutes and pulls the at certain times and goes with one that fits his plants at that time. So that leads me to this Question, General Hydro nutes have a total NPK of 7-6-10 mixed for flowering(using the 3 part series). What is a better nute that fits the needs of cannibus that is sold as a single part nute and has a cannibus specific NPK?

UB turned me on to some great information, a nute that comes in one bottle and supports all 16 aspects of plant nutrition. Not pricey at all and no mixing required other than mixing the nute accordingly to your needs as far as per gallons.http://www.dyna-gro.com/
So for the price its a good buy. Still have my nutes left over so I plan to use it up b4 buying this new one or at least I'll reserch more nutes b4 buying any specific one nute. Still have 3-4 weeks to go b4 harvest so I will need more nutes b4 that.

So yesterday I was on a quest to find dyna-grow in a few of my local hydro shops in town. No dice. Just the very typical commercial brands that are advertised in mag and sites. Picked up a copy of Maximum Yield,,,no adds for Dyna-grow,,,just the typical commercial stuff. So now I understand a bit more about the overall picture UB was trying to paint for me. Stay away from what the masses do , think for yourself, get properly informed, and let your plants be your guide.
Well one good thing came out of yesterday..I picked up a microscope. Well as for dyna-grow I looked for anything else they had in the hydro store as far as nutes, but nothing they had was a one part fert and contained all 16 elements I was looking for,,,that only means I have to get it online.

Nice, Steelherman I am new to the site and new to the idea of learning to grow. Can u direct me on the info you used for the charcoal filter your using and info on how your getting your co2. Also a question I am not sure who to ask so I will toss out .....................Can you really buy quality seed on the internet and will they ship it to a east coast state in the US or as I have heard you pay and they send a letter saying it is against the law to ship to the US and keep your money

Just changed the res with fresh nutes after flushing for 3 days. Added 5 gallons of filter water and mixed the nutes for 3 gallons so I have a 2 gallon buffer. This should last for 3-4 days, just in time to mix a new batch of nutes . I feel more confident knowning that this should really change how I have been growing. Dont know if it will make a difference in this grow but I'll keep my eyes on it. The leaves have shown me the damage, I just hope flushing helped and I did not rush the nutes. The big Bang was hit the hardest, some on the white rino and very little on the gigabud. This is the start of week 7.

Here is an up date on my grow. I'm waiting for the nutes I bought to come. Other than that no new nutes burn on any of the leaves just what I was unable to catch. I flusshed for 4 days and then add fresh water with nutes. All is well. I used my new toy to look at the trichs and they are still clear with a bit cloudy and one or two amber. The big bang is a good 9 weeker but can be chopped at 8. The white rino is a good 10 weeker and the gigabud looks like 10-12 weeks.I'm thinking harvest will be on the Nov 07. So I will keep the nutes running till maybe next thursday then start the flush for the last 2 weeks. The big bang are much bigger than the rest of my crop.White rino is still thin but I hope she will fatten up here soon. The gigabud is the tallest and the skinniest of the 4, very sativa looking.Those buds just look different than the rest. The smell is fresh for all 4 but the white rino being the one that smell like pine and fruity, the big bang 2nd and the gigbud .

OK so now I have recieved my new nutes. going to change my res and make a new batch tonight, I'll report if I see a change in growth, it might be to late but we will see.

Last night I could not pick up any stash cause of a bust but i plucked some popcorn buds off of my big bang and quick dried it so my lady and I could smoke. I know what happens when you do this so no need to tell me , but the bud got up stoned foe a good hours+, it tasted a bit harsh but had a very nice after taste to it. We used a water pipe to help and it did. Now really cant wait to harvest!!!

So it looks like I'll start to do a final flush on the 29th - 11th of Nov. I'll keep my eyes on them and harvest when the buds look like they are ready.
On to some better news....I'll be ordering more beans today, I'm going to stay with GHS but will get 2 different mixed indicas paks. My lady and I want to try a few different strains,,,cheese, himilaya gold, lemon skunk, Great white shark...and so on. So I'll keep you posted on how long it takes to get them, if I get them at all. Worth a try.
