BHO winterisation with ethanol (95%) based "equipment disinfection"?

Hello. I have two questions about winterisation:
1.
I have a bottle of 750ml equipment disinfection from the pharmacy containing 740g/kg ethanol and 63g/kg 2-popanol. Could this be a suitable substitute for 190 proof ethanol?

2.
If i use 60% (120-proof) ethanol from the liquor store, would it be the same as if i used 190 proof, but compensating by the amount of proof lost, e.g using approximately 1,5 times more off the 120 proof?(1,6*120=192). If so, would it effect the quality of the product?

I will answer question 2. I wouldnt use 120proof alc at all. Just my opinion but thats 40% water.

2-propanol = iso? Should be good, maybe check the msds first

120 proof leaves too much water behind requiring removal.

Iso will work, but not as well as Ethanol, because it has lower polarity (dielectric constant).

Any of you guys have a problem with 190 everclear for winterizing. I have used food grade ethanol, and everclear, and notice no difference but price. However have gotten some flak at other sites because of the "sugars" left in the product. But theoretically the grape spirits everyone recommends would have the same sugar? Can anyone get mor in depth on the subject.

I'm pretty sure the sugars would be left behind during the distillation of the alcohol when they process it.
I think some people just try to pick out things in other peoples tek's to make themselves look superior.
IMO I don't see any reason to use food grade ethanol because I just buy a fresh bottle and distill it over a drying agent, and reuse the same alcohol.
I don't see how sugars would still be in the alcohol considering all alcohol that proof has already been distilled.

Oops I meant to say, the sugars would not be left in the alcohol after distillation.
I can see maybe if you bought alcohol meant for drinking, that's the reason I don't buy any brands of alcohol such as everclear or grave's and I just buy the chemical itself in larger quantities for cheaper and make sure that it's free of any impurities or additives before I use it

190 proof ethanol is exactly what we use. It does an excellent job.

I use grain and grape 190 proof interchangeably. There will always be difference in opinion about whose hooch is best, but it is the alcohol that is doing the work and the balance in either is mostly water.
