Best Temperature and Humidity control techniques?

Hi

It's the first time I'm going to grow my own weed and while in awaiting my seeds to arrive, I was wondering of all the ways to control temperature and humidity for optimum results.:weed:

I've farmed fish in the past both edible and aquarium pets and I know how big of a role temperature and humidity play when it comes to farming or cultivating.

I'm planning on a 3x3 grow tent or cabinet with 250-300w led lights

It's a tropical savana climate where I'm from and I have no idea which strain is suitable to grow here but I have already ordered an AK47 auto.

Please do suggest what would be a good Sativa or sativa dominant strain but now than that please share how you have controlled temperatures and humidity if and when they got out of hand in your grower's journey, so I can learn and keep my plants healthy af. Here are some insights into my climate

I don't know anything about your planned setup or the style of grow you're looking at and until I know those parameters I'm not going to be able to offer specific advice.

In general, the BEST HVAC option is going to be water chilling because it's more efficient than air conditioning. You'll be able to separate the part that generates heat from the parts that generate the cool and put them where they'll do the most good rather than being limited to a window.

Water cooled air handlers are ideal for grow spaces because they not only cool the space but they're really good at removing moisture. Keep in mind that removing moisture is NOT the same as dehumidification. To dehumidify, you must add heat.

The more you tell me about your space, the better and more specific advice I can offer.

Heating, ventilation and air conditioning. I think you'll need an air conditioner, dehumidifier and humidifier. Some of us avoid the AC by growing during winter only.

The outdoor temperature and humidity doesn’t matter as much if you aren’t growing outdoors. Most people put their 3x3 tent in a closet, spare room, garage or basement. If these spaces are heated and have air conditioning, the settings of the room will matter much more than the outdoor temperatures. If you have air conditioning and set the room to 75 degrees during the warm period, that’s the differential you’re working with.

Most of the lights (even LED ones) will generate some heat. The type of light will determine how much heat it produces. So the tent will generally be warmer than the room it sits in. If the room doesn’t have air conditioning, like a garage or shed, or if your home doesn’t have air conditioning, and it’s supposed to be 95 degrees in there, it’s probably better to grow around your warm period. It’s alot easier to add heat than it is to reduce heat.

In the past, I’ve often increased circulation with an inline fan to reduce temperatures down to a few degrees above room temperature. To increase temperature, I’ve often used a small desktop heater. Both being connected to an inkbird controller. For humidity, I’ve historically made a home made humidifier with a fogger, and attached it to another inkbird controller (they have ones for temperature, and ones for humidity). I’ve never needed anything to reduce humidity more than the use of the inline fan.

They make alot of new tools that can significantly help these issues, if you don’t mind purchasing it. AC Infinity has Air Conditoners, Heaters, and Humidifiers, and you can get a small Dehumidifier, all plugged into a Smart Controller.

Shouldn't, the AC and dehu don't go in the tent, they are for the grow room or "lung room" the tent is in.

Small ultrasonic humidifiers can go in the tent or feed the tent through a small hose.
Both AC and dehumidifier produce heat as a byproduct. Putting either in a small enclosure like a tent or closet is asking for trouble. And the dehumidifier in a small space will not only take water from the air, but also the media plants are in. Portable AC units can be exhausted via single or dual hose but that means you'll need more space than what your tent or closet can accommodate. Controlling a lung room that supplies the intake for a grow enclosure is the most ideal scenario.

Running a sealed room is much different and a mini-split AC is ideal. Also running a portable AC dual hose with dehumidifier function enabled. This eliminates the pressure issues that single hose units create
