Best Lighting Arrangement for 2' x 4' Closet

I've been using a 400w home-made cool tube to illuminate my scrog that is four feet wide by two feet deep. I'm thinking of getting two 250w switchable ballasts and building some sort of double cool tube.

My question is: what position and orientation of the two lights will give the best light distribution?

end to end in cool tubes, linked together would be smart and easy. 100 more watts and better coverage.
