New grower looking to set up a 4x4 tent with 4 plants (coco) and was looking into lights ive kinda narrowed it down to 4 of the top lights going around just wanted to have some opinions and advice on what to go with. 1) OPTIC 8 LED 2) OPTIC SLIM 600H 3) CHILLED GROWCRAFT X6 1000W 4) HLG 650R My goals are pretty much like everyone else high yield high potency.

HLG hands down if those are your choices. Optic is fucking high priced, re-branded garbage.

Gavita rates the 1700e as covering a 4 x 4 area, and is a direct replacement for a 1000w HID.

The 1000w Hortilux HPS is the most powerful 1000w single ended HID at 1600umol, and the Gavita 1700e is 1700umol x 645w.

Phillips makes on that is 635w, and 1800umol, but you have to buy 40 of them. for $32,000... They wont sell individually. But thats $800 USD each, and a killer price.

So i saw GrowMau5 really doubting the thermal management of the Lumatek over the Growcraft...he's biased but he's probably got a point.
I didnt see that.. And I don't really understand thermal menagment of what ?? My english is pretty rusted. :) I have to watch and fig. out what he is talking about.. I only know that dude from MIGRO tested it and he was crushed, light blew him away..

$1,100USD.... A "Deal"?

THIS is a DEAL at nearly 1/5th price and will rock a 4x4.

hey man. he was live so there isnt a link. There wasnt any testing, just his opinion. he was worried about the longevity of the diodes as the spacing is tight and heatsinks are small.

1/5th of the price...more like 1/3rd but yes it’s a better deal, which is why I have 9 fotops per 4x8 table myself. you can’t deny that chilLED has good deals right now. I would bet their product, warranty and service is better too.

just realized we are also comparing 1000 watts to 480 watts...

By far the best among the medium price point leds is Spider Farmer. In your case 2 SF 2000s will leave enough space in between in the event that a quality bloom bar hits the market

There is NOTHING unique about HLG, their tech is at least 7 years old
Man I couldnt disagree more. If you're gonna get somethin on Amazon, go with Fissioning Boards 240R. It's an all 3500K Samsung LM301B with added 660&730nm Red Osram Diodes. The spread these boards lag down in unlike any other board I've seen period and I will vouch for them personally. Fantastic light.
Spider farmer as well as the Mars TS series fixtures have a 1:1 3000/5000K diode setup and it's just too much blue for flowering. I noticed quite a difference.

Check out the Par maps evenness for a single board at 120watts.

Also what in the hell do you mean HLG is 7 yr old tech? LM301 chips are super new.

Hey @Airwalker16 , your confusion is understandable. Maybe I can try to make sense of all this. If @PhatNuggz has pet plants( Pet Flora is not just the name for a soil-based multi-strain probiotic ), maybe he has pet spiders (pet fauna) as well. Perhaps one of these spiders went on to be an amazing farmer. This spider also knew a little bit better than Everyone else what spectrum marijuana vegetates and flowers best under.

Under the spiders guidance, Phattnuggz had some boards designed, tested and eventually produced enough to bring to market. These two debated about many names, but Phattnuggz finally conceded that credit to the main developer should be reflected in their product name. Hence the Spider Farmer was born.

I've always racked my brain trying to figure out where that name came from, and I think this makes the most sense. It also goes a long way in explaining why Phattnuggz feels obligated to mention Spider Farmer in almost any post he makes.
