Hello again,
I'm having a little issue that i need help settling.
I've had my 12 pot monster system setup for ~1 month now. Had plain water running through it, no problems. Changed it every week, bleach cleaned, and treated with h2o2 to keep it fresh. Perfectly sterile system. This week my clones were finally ready. Got out the nutes I've had for ~4 months. Brand new, stored in basement @ ~80-85 degrees. This concerned me that they might be contaminated from high heat storage, but they are chemical nutes. Using the entire BC line. So I mix up the veg line, throw it in and off we go. About 3-4 days later, the res smells of ammonia, the water is a blueish tint, and there is fuzzies growing in the bottom of the ebb n gro pots. I've had this happen before, a few months ago and I basically tore it apart and set it up brand new. New hydroton, tubing, etc.
Now, this time around, an experienced friend of mine says there is no issue. I don't know if this will affect the crop or not because I have no experience with that. He's telling me the bacteria is beneficial and is part of the BC line. Says it comes from the Thrive alive. These are all chemical nutes by the way, nothing organic.
Now, my logic is how can the entire system be compromised in 3 days if it's not supposed to happen. Huge airstone in res, and treated at 5ml/gal with h2o2. Just not sure how something would grow in these conditions.
Have not had enough time to tell if plants are affected yet, but seem fine atm.
Just need someone that's experienced with the BC line, preferably in a hydro setup.
Is this supposed to happen or do I have a major issue here?
Any information is helpful.
