Bathroom Exhaust Fans question?

Was wondering if it would be possible to use bathroom exhaust fans to exhaust air out of your room? I would think if I set it up right it would work the same as an inline fan just not as powerful depending on the CFM. An inline fan would probably be better but the prices are a lot more. I can pick up a 70CFM bathroom fan at Home Depot for $20. If anybody has any experience in using one please comment back. I would like to know how it works and also what kind of wiring I would have to do to set it up. Thank you

I used the same one you mentioned from home depot. once you open it it has a little motor that has a 2 prong plug so you can just plug it in to the wall. I tried it for a few days and ended up returning it and grabbing a 4" Vortex. I was using a 400wHPS in a closet and that bathroom fan did basically nothing to help exhaust the heat. Unless your using CFL's I would save the money and try to find a used inline fan off craigslist.

I use one for my light 400w and added a 4" vent fan at the end so I have 80cfm pushing and 80 pulling. the bath fan is a squeril cage type and woked pertty good alone.

i was using 2 x 4 inch bathroom fans and then switched to a proper inline fan, my advice is forget the bathroom fans.....................

Get a better fan. I got one like you are talking about and it has no power to pull anything. Here are some good cheap links to inline fans.

Thats true. I would rather have the 240cfm fan running. It did work much better.
