Been a gardener for years. I have found that tomatoes and weed plants are exactly the same method of growing.
Two plants form seed , 2 gallon pot , lst from veg , topped both, I purposely stunted them because of space. I am forcing flower. Veg I used 18/6. Now in flower I have it 8/16 ( 16 dark ). Tell me your thoughts then I will show you pics.

Why such a long night cycle? If it's for faster flowering, get a 7 day timer. Set it for 6 hours on, 13 off. By the end of the week there will be one less hour of darkness.
I kind of just have a feeling the buds would looser with 16 hours off. Have you tried before?

Whats wrong with 12/12 light / dark for them to flower? it works for the best plants, i have herd of starting them flower with longer dark hours, tricking them into flowering for a few days, but ive never done anything other then 12/12

why the rush to flower them?
