Banana/orange peel

I've heard banana peel is good 4 outdoor plants, 4 the worms obviously. is orange peel alright as well, or 2 acidic?

No orange peels....no citric fruits (lemons, limes, etc).

Bananas are particularly good for our plants because they have a fair amount of potassium. You can boil banana peels (and banana if desired), cool, strain, water....good for flowering time in particular.

Worms do also love them and our plants get the banana's potassium (and other nutrients) from the castings after the worms get done with them. If you want to learn about this and more organic ideas for growing, check out the forum here.

I make my own soil and compost mixture and I am lucky enough to live where I have many banana trees. I have found that using banana parts in my compost is very useful. As JC stated no citrus especially if you are putting them directly into your container. If you can make a little space for composting some materials even in a 5 gallon bucket with lid you will find your grows much better, require less work and less purchased food for them saving you mega dollars in a short period of time.
