Ballasts

Hey folks, do you at any point replace your ballasts other then when they quit working altogether.

Do they wear out and loose strength or just shut down.

I've been running mine for about 10 yrs plus and notice quit a difference in yeild and can't seem to figure out what the problem is.

Get a cheap light meter and see if you are close to the rated lumens of the lamp (brand new) you are using. That might not be totally conclusive, but it might tell you something.

Is it magnetic or digital?

It is magnetic. I've done a search or 2 about this but havnt realy found anything on the subject it's self.
