Ballast decided to stop working!!!

I've just moved my tent from the bedroom to the attic, i set everything up plugged the lamp in and nothing happened just a very quiet buzzing noise coming from the ballast.
I'm using a 600w hps does anyone have a clue what happened it was working i plugged it in 20 mins later and nothing?

You'll want to try a known working bulb to be sure it's the ballast. Someone experienced with electrical work could also use a high-power meter to test it but that shouldn't be attempted by most people.

Thanks mate i'll try a new bulb before i go buying another ballast

Is your ballast in a case? Is it possible that you may have dislodged some wiring perhaps? Sometimes if connectors arent properly screwed on they can come loose enough to set the wires free!

My magnetic 400w will do this if it's turned on longer then 10mins and gets shut off. The digi 600 I can unplug and re plug and it comes right back on but my magnetic from HTG has always done this to me. It seems to me a heat issue if I let it cool down for 45mins or so she comes back to life as if nothing ever happened. Has had me in a panic more than once until I remember o yea this did happen last time lol.

Did you try it back in the socket it was working on? Maybe the plug up there sucks.
