1. why are you trying to make sure there's ph lockout?

you want to use water 6.5 to make sure there's NO pH lockout.

2. have you been using pk addtives? I've seen this happen with them.

That looks to be more of a P deficiency and a cal/mag issue to me. I was getting it in my Sats about early to mid-fower in my first couple grows also. I started adding cal/mag and the problem went away.

Could be as they both can look much the same, P issues that is.

Bingo!!! They do look alike, and during flower, the plant uses more P and cal/mag, Not to say to overload them, but you do need more.

Philosophist, what's the pH of the SOIL? Run off is really only an INDICATOR of what's going on inside. Run off water hasn't been in contact with the soil itself long enough to have been buffered. To get the actual pH of the soil, take a sample from about 3 inches down (Gently scoop about a tbsp or so from one side), put that into a jar or large pill bottle that your meter will fit into and cover it with enough DISTILLED water to make a really loose mud (slurry). Let it sit for about 30 min or so, then check the pH.
