Ok, I am just a newbie that has tried several ways to use the trim from plants. I learned of this trick on youtube! Dry ice hash...
1)So take a big stainless steel mixing bowl and add trim and such.
2)Add 2-3 lbs of dried Ice. If the dried Ice comes in a block bounce 2 time off of ground, taking care to just break into bigger chunks. Add ice with Tongs (Chunks larger than marbles) to the stainless bowl and dump the rest into a plastic bowl with water then set outside.
3)Now cover the bowl with your 220 mesh (or close) bubble bag and let sit while you clear a table... we use black plastic painters drop cloth as it is smooth and shows well.
4) Turn your steel bowl upside down so all drops into the bag and shake like a pepper shaker. I start at one end and every couple of minutes move to the left one step. (This helps to sort quality)
5) At this point your table will be covered, take a plastic card and scrape into piles I like to do 3.
At this point it is ready to enjoy... After playing with this I also found an easy way to press it so it looks like a skate board.
1) Place end product into cellophane
2) wrap tightly like a J and tape it.
3) Go to the printer and grab a sheet of paper and wrap this around the cellophane tightly and tape.
4) Turn oven to 175
5) Run little pack under water for 2-3 minutes while the paper gets soaked
6) Throw in oven for 10 minutes (water on paper keeps cellophane from melting)
7) Roll with rolling pin going from light to pushing it hard
Freeze, Open and Enjoy
These methods have saved me some serious time! I got my dried ice from Fred Meyers, check with your local grocers.
I am not saying its perfect but its fast, effective and easier than jugging 5 gallons of water.
