Average yields

I just finished harvesting & curing my first grow and I'm kind of disappointed .... I weighed up my biggest plant and only got an ounce. Should I be disappointed? What average yields does everyone else get? The strain of my 1 ounce plant was g13's cheese feminezed that I got during a promotion from attitude seed bank. I had 7 plants under a 600 hps watt light. Like some of you on here I had extreme heat problems (90+ degree temps) during flowering. I also had fungus gnats problems during vegging. Despite all that the plants survived.

My Final weigh in all together was about 6 ounces. By the time my next harvest comes around, I will most likely smoked all of the up and will have to go back to buying from my local weedman.

all the plants got general hydroponic flora grow, bloom, and mirco along with super thrive and molasses. They grew in 7 quart buckets (1.75 gallons) in coco, perlite, and pete moss.

My question now is what can i do to get bigger yields? Co2 is too expensive for me. I did end up buying a portable air conditioner for the heat. My grow room is about 6.5 to 7 feet high too. what nutes can I give them? Any grow procedures I can try. Some of the plants got super cropped and lollipoped.

Your goal should be 1g per watt of light put in. If you're going with only 6 plants in such a decent space i would say throw them in at least 5gallon buckets and veg those girls for at least a month, maybe longer depending on strain. Heat problems will definitely lower your overall yield... sometimes by a LOT. Tends to make even rockhard strains turn fluffy, and growth massively slows above the 80's unless your using co2. Law of limiting factors. All factors must be raised equally or plants will grow at the lowest factor. Just to put it into numbers if you lights are 5, water 5, nutes 5, heat 5, but the co2 concentration is a 3, then the plants will grow at 3.

Next time just control the heat, get bigger pots and veg those ladies. You will at LEAST double those results since im assuming you only got like 4-5 ounces if the biggest was an ounce. All the same gl on the next run

first grows tend to be that way. Growing under HPS is tough in the summer without AC.
As far as yield per plant, it's hard to say what to to expect since you didn't list veg time. For SOG, 1 oz per plant is great.

Also, don't use superthrive of b vitamin supplements in flower. Great for veg but once you go 12/12 it's best to lay off of those.

1 zip per lady sounds about right for first go around. I as well had heat issues and a few other issues and the 2nd round got up around 1.5 zips/lady. Finished up my 3rd round about 4-5 months ago just before I moved and averaged 3 zips per lady. First two times I went with a hot soil method and before I started the 3rd run I ended up running into a long time grower who had a schedule using some serious nutrients. The schedule uses like 15-20 different nutes but only very little amounts of each(20-30ml/5 gallons). Long story short it'll take some time to get the hang of things and more importantly just getting a good environment.

I agree with everything trent says. Under 80 or forget hard heavy buds. Cooltubes will more than double your yield and quality.

You might also consider a strain that is developed to handle the heat. I'm growing in the desert and experience 110 in the shade, not to mention the sun temps. It's 109 today.

Mandala Seeds will flower in 120 degrees.
