AutoFlower Conundrum

I have an interesting situation. I grow autoflowers in a tent with Ocean Forest/Happy Frog/Perlite/Dolomite Lime and Fox Farms soluable nutes currently under a SolarFlare 200 at 24/7 (I love this light). I've utilized the Pro Grow 180 & 260 as well in the past. They are good lights too. The plants grow healthy and luscious green.

The thing is, my buds never grow terribly thick nor beefy. I would characterize them as leaning more to the thinnish side. They do not carry a tremendous amount of smell, even for strains that would be considered aromatic. The crazy part is that when I vape, the burning capacity of my buds is a fair bit longer than dispensary available stock and the potency exceeds them as well. So I have no complaint, just more stumped as to why that might ocurr aside from growing with an led light. My last plant, a Moby Dick, had/has barely any odor and almost no stickiness to the buds, yet vapes extremely well too, though it is a little harsh. Any thoughts?

Maybe a lil longer flowering if possible? Most likely just the light. If it ain't a real heavy strain to begin with you'll prob always have problems with the size and density from not having a powerful enough light. Just a thought, not saying from experience cause I've never used led. I have grown with cfl before and know that you'll always need more than the recommended wattage for big dense buds. My 1000hps does me well with half to 1oz colas.

Oh and the harshness is most likely in the cure. Try curing it longer, if you already cure for 2months than Idk. Maybe the strain not liking the nutes or not flushing them properly before harvest.

I have the same light in a 3x3 with a A51 SGS, and my plants from the Cali Lightworks side all lean into the SGS side. You will get some good light directly under the lamp but it really does a shitty job of distributing the light.

However, I don't think that's the issue.. I simply believe that, regardless of wtf many seed banks want you to believe, autoflower strains are still waaayy behind photos. I ran 4 auto freebies and only got 1 that produced a really nice standard, dense dro bud. Also, although I generally veg under 24/0, I found that a couple of the autos really didn't like the constant light.

Good luck with whatever you do!

Well.........this is truly a conundrum..........i grow some some amazing bud from autos.......from the same breeder
Mdanzig..Super sour 60's non fem..........its just like everything else you get out what you put in...... keep an open mind and most of the time you want be disapointed

Another auto question. I'm treating mine like a photo and have them on 12-12.

Should I just scrap that & go back to a 18-6 or maybe 20-4 schedule?

Personally I would never grow my auto's with 12/12. I found 18/6 worked very well, however, the 24/7 is proving to be a better, faster grow at this early stage. Sure some strains like a little different lighting schedule, however my current "Diesel Ryder" is going to be one extremely hearty plant by the time it comes out of the oven. I expect a bountiful yield. If you haven't run the 12/12 for a long period already, then switching to 18/6 should be ok.

Granted, I'm not one for a long cure, though I use the same process each time and this plant was certainly more unique in it's "lacking properties". I believe I will try the fox farms flushing product with my current Diesel Ryder.

About 3-4 weeks so far.
