Auto Update

I am obviously not an indoor grower, but I did try starting some autos back in December with a pretty paltry result. However, I did put up some better grow lights and the plants have definitely picked up. Now my dilemma is that I'm going on a trip from March 23-29 which is less than 2 weeks away, so even if they were ready to harvest today I would be skimping on the curing.
I don't imagine there's any way to speed things up...? I don't want to dry them too quickly, but I also won't be around to open the jars to let moisture out for almost a week. Does anyone have any ideas?

How old into flower is she? When I have two weeks left to chop I see orange hairs everywhere like half done weed, not just started like these look. If its a fast finisher at 5 wks complete now, Id chop before you leave.

If its less than 5 wks I would try to automate it as much possible until return in 6 days. Ive speed dried brittle past cure window a few times it was ok if its good genetics. Its not a big plant either so I wouldnt split hairs.

Thanks for your reply. I'm going to guess they've been flowering about 4 weeks - there's another smaller plant in front of this one that looks a little bit ahead of the bigger one. As is normal with my summer outdoor plants, the tops are more orange than further down and more are pistols are turning orange every day, but the trichomes are still crystal clear.

What do you mean by automate? Not familiar with that. And I think the genetics should be good - the bigger one is Royal Cookies (which smells incredibly sweet like a cookie!) and the smaller one is Cookies Gelato.

Automate like a auto water system or have someone water it for you, if you open windows and have fans turn on for humid days, idk. What ever it may be. I just try to chop 90% orange hairs at minumum I dont check trichs.

The buds are doing the bulk work during wk 4-6 then it works on finishing up the rest. So 90% orange hairs it should be hard to find them, not everywhere you look. I like to go 100% orange hairs if all is well it feels like a flex and yea youll get more.

I only grown so many strains though I really just run clones so I havent worked with more than a dozen strains.

People say they never seen a plant done in 6-7wks but Ive seen it on other peoples grow. If its your typical fast flowering people say the soonest they ever seen a plant done is 9-10 wks full. So wk 7-9 its just finishing the rest up sometimes needs 10 full wks but still choppable.

OK automate - I do have a pet sitter coming to take care of my cats, and she will water in the greenhouse, but I'm not sure I want her to see what I'm growing. Then again, when I go away the end of April, she'll be taking care of my crop of summer seedlings which I grow next to tomato seedlings in the hopes that she won't really see what's what. (My daughter tells me that everyone knows what it is and thinks I'm nuts).

I've learned a lot from paying attention to the trichomes and whether they're milky or starting to turn amber makes a big difference in potency and effect.

I grew a few autos over the summer on my patio and was stunned by how they developed - growing and flowering all at the same time - and they were ready to harvest in about 11 weeks from germination. They were also really small. I'm starting to understand what the autos need and I may play around over the summer again because I still have seeds, but I'm not really prepared to create the kind of indoor set up that they need. This was just for fun, (I grew 36 1/2 oz. over the summer so it's not like I'm running out) but now that the plants and I have come this far together I want to get the most out of them as I can!
