Auto strains under fluorescent's (Organic grow). Where did it go wrong?

Just completed my second grow of white russians under fluorescent's and although it grew as good as expected for the basic setup I was using, the finished taste and effect was not very good to say the least.

The bud's were totally covered in crystals, which I left until turning milky in colour. Not very much smell unless you touch the buds or move the plant. After about 11 weeks and a 12 day cure, the buds look like they aint got much meat on them, not very dense but I was expecting that. What I wasnt expecting is that the bud gave me no noticable high what so ever. Very smelly when breaking up into a joint and very sticky (I was quite pleased with the amount of crystals) but no thick aroma when lit up and no stone!!!!! Very disappointed is an understatement!!!!!

I got my seeds from lowlife seeds, planted 6 seeds, each in a 10 litre pot and grew them first under a 250watt fluorescent vegging light, until starting to flower(day 21 in my case!), then switched the light for a 250watt flowering light, which the plants stayed under for the rest of the duration(about 8 weeks!). I grew the plants in cactus soil because it gives good drainage and used an organic fertilizer. The plants all grew at a fast rate but all grew slightly different. Some had large cola's and some had small cola's and big side branches. I got roughly 2 oz/56g per plant after curing but as I say, the bud was very weak compaired to what I normally get and although it did'nt cost much to produce, it wasted a lot of my time, feeding them and checking trichomes.

I would like to try again sometime soon but I would like to know what experienced growers would suggest? What was the main reason my stone was missing? Was it the lighting or the seeds? Was it the wrong time to crop it? I just dont know. I wanted my first grow to be as basic as possible so there was less that could go wrong with it. I doubt I would go for auto strains again. I'm thinking I'm gonna go with Barneys Sweetooth next time.

Please if anyone has any 'words of wisdom' on this subject, please share them with me.

Really hard to say but I suspect that it's the strain. I've stayed away from the autoflowering strains because I haven't read too many people saying it was really good smoke. I don't think they're as potent as breeders would have you think. I can't help but think your Sweet Tooth grow ill be a marked improvement.

I have grown white dwarf auto with cfl and while the plants were small and the yield low, the quality was great. I won't do an auto again though. I suspect it was the seds in your case. I'm going to grow OG Kush from attitude.
