Auto Strains and feminized seeds

Hi everyone I'm tebin and I think this may be my first thread, not sure. Anyways if I'm in the wrong board lemme know and i'll repost it in the correct one.
Ok so I've noticed that a lot of you "real" growers(as in people who have been doing this for 5+ years) won't touch Auto strains or feminized seeds. Now I understand the reluctance to use the feminized beans, but i don't understand your objection to auto strains.
What's not to love about auto's? I mean find some males cross them with female Sour D or Og or whatnot and after 2 or 3 generations you would have some auto Sour D or auto Og correct,or have I missed some vital part in cannabis breeding? I recently bought some autos that were 18 percent THC,1.4 percent CBD,and 0.9 percent CBN,which as far as I understand would constitute medicinal cannabis would it not? I mean I've had medical grade herb that rocked my socks and it wasn't nearly as potent as this auto. It was more in the 15 percent range but this leads back to my question: If auto's can be as strong as regular seeds but take half the time to grow, then why aren't there more strains to choose from and more people using them?
Underground Originals Smile auto was my last plant and dry I yielded just shy of 2oz. which to me sounds pretty good seeing as my white rhino x ak47 clones probably wont yield that combined. Side note does white rhino x ak47 already have a commercial name? I not I'm thinking Rhino 47 or White Ak,thoughts please?:joint:

I dont mind autos at all. Never had an issue with them. Mine are some of my healthiest plants.
Mine are Reg seeds so one issue is the 3:1 male to female ratio =(
The harvest is nothing you get the camera out for either, if you know what i mean

autos have there use;s but most experianced growers dont want a plant to auto flower! they want the plant to flower when they say so !! they might wanna grow it massive , they might wanna clone hell outa it , they might wanna sex it without flowering the plant !!

and the feminized thing is mixed really imo ...................... some dont like becouse its unnatural usein chemicals to stress a plant to hermie ..................... some becouse they like to breed and for that you need males (unless you fem your seeds with chemicals ) .................. some see feminized planst as been hermie prone compeared to natural seeds !!

i grow fems and reg and imo you can find something good in each but regular seeds produce better females imho

You can make any non auto immediately flower as well, so what's the point?

Auto indoors: finishes in 9 weeks, produces 1.5oz, requires 18-24hrs of light
Regular indoors started 12/12 from seed: Finishes in 9weeks, produces 1.5oz, only requires 12 hrs of light, and is more dank due to no Ruderalis.

Id pick more dank and half the power any day...

excactly !! .................... i think the only real use autos have to my mind are to outdoor growers ........ so it doesnt matter how many hours of day light you have its gunna flower automaticly !!

witch means in a growing season you can have x amounts of harvests :)

I think autos are a great starter for the noob. When you grow one out, it builds confidence. Easy to grow. No timers. When I was growing autos, CFLs were set to 24/0 in FFOF. Water every 3-4 days. Simple. Pretty much set and forget.

I may still throw one in here and there with the regs. Quality wise, autos are comparable to regs. But, like others said, the yield is lower. Also, you can't clone an auto.

So ya. Pros and Cons.

Thanks guys for expanding on the uses of auto flowering strains and could someone elaborate on the whole making a plant flower anytime? I'm a noob who is just passionate about the herb and I like to learn as much as possible.

to make a plant flower any time, you simply move the light schedule to 12 / 12 instead of a veg light schedule of say 18 / 6 or w/e one may use..

Indoors is all about controlling the environment and getting the plant to do what you want so indoor autos are pretty pointless really, unless you are a noob or a bit lazy because they are easier to grow.

Outdoors, to see a lil 6-12inch baby girl floweiring and starting to stink at only 4 wks old is a site of mother nature to behold. Sure humans have manipulated it, but the results are good, and the little girls are so stealth, and the photo girls are still vegging.

Auto's serve their purpose as do fem seeds. It's all about different strokes, but at the end of the day if you are growing in any capacity then you are all good in my book.

We all need to stop hating on what other people are doing/growing because at the end of the day they are doing what works best for them and learning all the time.

If you look after mother nature, she will reward you.:leaf:

i just made some seeds with a Fruit Autoflower, using males from TGA Subcool's genetics. auto's are excellent if you can get a good batch of a nice auto, anything from the breeder "Stitch" of short stuff seeds will be bomb autoflower. right now, im keeping my seedlings (3-4 days old) in 18/6 schedule for a month to see if any carry the autoflowering traits, because only a few will show sex and those that do, under 18/6 schedule would be autos.

Autoflowers are worth it, they can be grown during the spring and can give you outdoor harvests nearly half of the year. just have to get your timing down right and you can have a little headstash of an auto every few weeks.

I haven't been doing this for years, just a single bag seed outside here and there and decided to get serious about growing and learning how to cure because I've never cured anything so I'm running Auto's outside so I can get relevant experience so I don't fuck up on the big harvests...

Thanks guys for the replies and opinions. Personally I have 2 white rhino crosses and a bag seed flowering and that was out of 8 plants. The rest were males and I've already invested so much time and effort in them I just thought the autos would help determine sex easier. Also if I'm switching to 12/12 to force flower how soon can you do that? I mean if I can let them veg until they're like 6 or so inches tall how big would they be by the time they stopped flowering? Space is mainly the issue cause I ran out of room in my main chamber and I don't want to build another or partition anymore of my living quarters off for grow space.
