Got my closet Autoflower set up going and was hoping to have it evaluated. The light is a 250w mh and is approx. 18 inches above my plants it is the end of week 1 and they just seem okay now really doing what I hoped

The seedlings look like they're leaning towards the light. That would indicate they're not getting enough. The five gallon pot are causing a bigger spread. Larger then the foot print of the light at distance. Three 2-3 gallon pots would being them closer to the center of the light foot print.

You may want to provide a picture of the whole setup as it looks a little like your light is insufficient for the size of your grow

I would raise the two containers that are lower down to get them equal level.
Your thermometer is reading 86 degrees as a highest temp. I doubt it is, its probably the thermometer been directly under the light. Move it above the light line, it wont help your plants grow but at least you will sleep better not worrying about high temps.:bigjoint:

Yeah not really sure why you are using such large buckets for a small grow. I would get them transplanted into 2 or 3 gallon grow bags asap but thats just me. How many plants are there? i see another in the back?

No, no, no. Don't transplant these autos. You will do more harm than good. I get that this is a small grow, but when has more root room ever been a problem lol? I'm just saying, you get some good root treatment going on here (aloe water and Azos, or even Root Exelurator(?) you will have a killer root ball in there.

Like other people said, rise the planters or lower the light. I keep my 600 watt just a few inches above where your 250 is at, and I've seen ill effects. Just check on them every five minutes or so after you lower it so you know nothing bad is going to happen. Do you have a fan blowing?

Cover the top dirt with Hydroton or gravel. It will help retain moisture, protect the roots from the light, and keep the soil cooler. If you are going the organic route, take the Hydroton off as flower happens and top dress with a high P and K top dressing then recover with the hydroton. Do that right after the stretch.

Good luck.

We'll have to agree to disagree here. He WILL yield less in those large containers than if he potted down and was able to get more light to the plants.
