Hey again amigo! I would start at day 15 but it depends on how the plant is doing. Check out @Buddy73's threads. You won't regret it. Best LSTing on autos I've seen. Also, NO TOPPING OR FIMMING AUTOS in my opinion and even more experienced growers will agree with this probably.

You can even start now but I would wait a little bit for the stems to get just a little thicker.

Check out Bill Ward's videos on YouTube as well. He grows many autoflowers and has countless LSTing videos.

This plant was SOOO COMPACT that I had to raise the lights a little bit and wait a little longer for it to grow vertically in order to tie it down but I LSTed her around day 27 I think.20201211_161548.jpg20201221_172845.jpg

Depends on the plant, you want to make sure it's well established before you start LSTing. I usually wait until about 4-5 nodes or its at least 6-8" tall. You could maybe start now, very gently and carefully at this point, but waiting another week or so would be fine and maybe safer. You can train until they are a week or two into flower, so you have lots of time still.
Avoid topping unless your confident in your growing skill, but lots of people do top autos. I did my first auto topping recently in fact, no problems, but I've also grown a few autos to harvest with no training, and only LST, before I attempted that.
Good luck.

I agree with this. While you can top healthy autos, it’s easier for your first auto grow to just LST.

It was sarcasm. I forgot to add the :bigjoint:at the end.
That Auto was part of my second grow. Topped her a few days before stretch and she just grew branches. She gave me a hair over 3oz of thumb sized rock hard buds.

What day did u top. Or what signs did U wait for until u first topped
I didn't wait for signs or a day. She was at like the 4th or 5th node. I did it because everyone here said never top an auto (3yrs ago, most of those members are gone). I also belong to another site where it's done all the time.

The thing is, auto's gonna do what an auto's gonna do. But, the same auto's grown by 2 growers may not do the same thing at the same time. For example yours could begin to flower at week 4, while mine wait until week 6. (Yes I've been averaging 6-7 weeks veg time for auto's in a new house, not sure why yet, may be temp related but I'm not complaining. lol).

That said, I rarely train auto's now unless I'm trying to keep one small.

When u topped 5 nodes high. How many nodes did u take off ? Only very top ? Or did u take off 2 nodes like I see videos of other ppl do ?

All plants are different, but most will start to flower anywhere from 3 to 6 weeks(longer if you stunted them, but this is obviously not the plants fault) and average is 4 to 5 weeks. Me, by day 21 if she has 4 full nodes and growing the 5th and looks green and healthy this is when i cut the 5th off. Gives it a week to recover and anywhere from 1 to 2 more weeks of growth. If she is any less than 4 nodes or the 4th is very small by 21 days, she's not groing fast IMO and i wouldn't top. It's not a standard, since topping is a split practice, but i bet this is the most frequent time and node amount.

Just the tip. I let it grow out just enough to comfortably get some scissors in there.

If you do top, LST or anything, I suggest letting at least one plant go au'natural. You'll get a better feel for things that way and have some comparison.
