Are UFOs worth it?

They are around $200 for a 90 watt first of all...Are they actaully WORTH it? Does their lighting affect the plant any differently than HPS/MH? How much space could 1 90watt cover during flowering for a 5-6 ft plants? Any help would be appreciated.

most people on here will bash the LED fad... i don't think the technology is there yet. go with what works for now and that's HPS/MH/CFL. They're way cheaper and proven effective.

ya all the name brand weed ufos ive seen were all red and (i thought) you were supposed to have like red or blue one for flowering/veg.. idk which was for which.. the only effectife led system ive seen were getto ass hand made lightboards

You might as well use a lite-bright, IMO.

LED "can be superior to HID lighting. The problem is its highly exspensive. and the Best ones are not available to most of the public. In university's and private labs. Scientists are pushing the envelope of "photonics" . But yes it will be some time before the refined technology will be widely available.LED only looks red at first after about 5min your eyes "catch" up and "perceive" the light normaly.

I believe if you have the extra money it's worth buying and using it along with your hps light. I am going to add some when I get the loot.

If you are on a budget stick with the trusty HPS or Halide. . . . .

Ok, well I have one ufo and it isn't red, it's a shade of purple...I know they put the red and blue spectrums that are needed. I just don't know if the amount they put out is equivalent to HPS/MH...I've tested it and a plant under UFO seems to grow taller but the leaves seem a little thinner, of the same strain as well. Does anyone that has experimented a lot with these have any factual evidence? Thanks
