Are these seedlings stretching?

Two bag seeds I sprouted and dropped into a soil mix. They're about 5 days old.

My concern is that they're stretching. Currently under a 175W MH 10000k bulb. Temps seems to be fine (~79f) when the lights are on.

I have two options: I can lower the light or swap it out for a 400W MH.

Pics taken first thing in the morning, lights just came on. Any thoughts are appreciated.

THANKS!

Don't look stretched to me. Make sure you get the plastic off as soon as they emerge from the soil. They will rot/damp off quickly in that high humidity.

They look fine but I would lose the plastic and get them under the 400W ASAP. Here is a good rule of thumb for your HID light placement. Place your hand palm down at the height of the top of your seedling, if it is uncomfortable to the back of your hand it is too hot for your plant. Adjust often if necessary. Why is every new grower I come across on here even bothering with humidity domes, plastic and any other contraption they can think of when starting seeds??? You don't need them.

The wrap is off the plants that sprouted through the soil. Thanks for the feedback everyone!

Because they are new growers and there is a ton of bad/mis information on our and other forums. We all had a learning curve, mine was a couple of decades long. :weed:

Hiya leels, what gives with the Pics with the CFLS?(and the Orange1) Think you maybe wanna hang on sides rather than tips pointing down..The Tip about using your hand between the Bulb and ya Ladies is best way to tell if the Heat is Ok or Not..if you can Hang your Fan at the same height as your reflector..say on a nuffa chain? and aim it at your Bulb you will be cooling ya Bulb(I do this, works a treat) then maybe get another Fan for at ground level.

Hope ya Grow goes ok

Peace

Oh..nearly forgot..some peeps say that Tapping(Gently) on the tops of Lil Ladies strengthens them up a Little..

I'm just hanging them up there for right now. Normally they'd be in the box underneath the plants for any seedlings, but right now they're just hanging out above them.

I'm going to see if I can find a way to hang a fan at level with the light, or possibly explore getting a cool tube to replace that light soon. As of right now I have a pretty decent fan angled upwards toward the light which is maintaining temperatures, and I've got a second crappier fan that circulates the air across the tops of the plants. I've sort of created a pocket or circulating, cool air between the sprouted plants and the lights.

I will definitely try gently tapping them to build up the strength of the stalk.

And thanks for the advise!
