Are these buds producing seeds?

Hello everybody. Ive had a russet mite problem but it is now under control but now after they've recovered i've discovered a few buds in the room that looks unusual. Is it an hermaphrodite or is it just the way it develops? I opened up one of the buds and it looks like an young seed (as shown in one of the photos). Am i wrong? The strain is wedding cake and five weeks into flower. Thank you

it do be like that tho haha. But about the buds, can we identify if they have turned hermie?
I see no pollen sacks or nanners anywhere so cant say for sure if there was a hermie or not. And as for the picture... hard to tell how big that thing is. Every calyx has a sort of an "ovary" cant tell if it was turning into a seed or not.

I don’t know what that is, but it’s not what a seed looks like in the bud calyx. My guess is it’s just a little deformed calyx.

i think he removed most the calyx.
Maybe if he pulled it out and got a better photo, it’d look like a seed but I don’t think it does in that photo.

As for the other photos, they just look like swollen calyxes. When I grow for seed, they really look like seeds. I guess if the OP is really worried, just dissect one of those buds and see of there’s anything in the calyxes.

I wouldn't worry about it if the buds are that mature and yet the seeds are only just forming. I've had a couple of strains seem to produce small seed like things, with no obvious signs of hermaphroditism during growing (Seedism Exodus did it big time - I've also seen it in commercially available Exodus locally). From what I hear Gelato can be very susceptible to turning hermie - I'd count my blessings the buds look as awesome as yours and not worry about a few little pods.

Awesome graphic! Thank you

I have a week 8ish csi gsc that I suspect has seeds. So I took one of the more suspect looking lower buds and dissected it. It was an immature very low bud, white pistols no swollen calyx. It had these ovules in it that I may have mistaken for seeds. Not sure i want to start pulling apart more mature buds at the top. I think my concern is valid but my methods are flawed and maybe pointless.

I’ve heard that in some cases, the ovules get hard and even turn brown, even if they’re not pollinated. May be apocryphal but I don’t see any reason why someone would lie about this. In any case, shouldn’t be a problem aside from some crackling when smoked apparently...

I definitely didn't address the obvious thing coming out of the middle and it looks like a nanner is inside
