are Maxibright compact ballasts any good?

ive currently got a 400w ,magnetic ballast,which was the cheapest i could find,i am wanting to upgrade to a 600w now,and the maxibright 600w compact ballast seems like a good price,but it says they run hot,but are guaranteed for 3 years,a normal 600w digital ballast is nearly twice the price,so my question is.is this a good buy,as funds are tight ,thanks

hi, i am running a maxibright compact 600 hps,
them ballasts do get real hot infact to the point i had to put a brick underneath it,
but i have read this is normal for them.
if your growing in a tent its best to keep the ballast out side of it.
the heat aside tho they do have some good reviews.
