Apartment set up

I am currently living in a 2 bedroom apartment, but the walls are thin. I want to have a 1000w set up in the spare bedroom either hydro or soil. Not sure yet. I want to keep odor and noise to a minimum because I have elderly neighbors who are pretty nosey. Any recommendations on a grow?

Noise wise I honestly dont it makes much differance between dirt or hydro. I mean how much noise can 1 air pump and water pump make?? I just wouldnt let "noise" be the deciding factor between hydro or soil because there isnt any noise differance anyway.

Its my fans/blower that make the noise for me and you no matter dirt or hydro you will need ventilation so plan your air-flow as quite as possible.
As for the nosey neighbors. The important thing is going to be odor/smell controll. A good carbon filter is a must and perhaps even an ozone generator. I smoke constantly so I dont nessesarly notice huge differance in smell but my wife who doesnt smoke at all doesnt smell dank when getting home from work anymore sence installing the ozone generator. You also need take great care in deciding where the best way/place to exaust this air.

The problem is they can get pretty loud. Get some nice ducting and box that thing up. You can make the box out of MDF, then push insulation around the fan.

It will be dead-silent.
