Hey people. I'm currently looking for an apartment to start a mini grow op(600wattz), and live in. Any advice on choosing the safest apartment would be greatly appreciated. I was thinking of choosing an apartment on a second floor for safety. Well, thanks for the help.:peace:

Inspections is going to really be the only problem you will run into. Maybe smell from the dank 600w growin BUDS.

Here's some things you want to look for:

Top floor, corner unit.
Vent to the attic in closet or wherever you want to grow.
Make sure no necessary equipment maintanence people might need to get to is in the closet, i.e. air conditioning units, electrical wiring, etc.
Big closets (obvious reasons).
Make sure there is electrical outlets near the closet, or even better, in the closet, which is rare.
Just be aware that it is almost a certainty that someone you dont want in the unit will have to go in there, whether it be maintanence or exterminators, whatever. I have a six month lease and its happened 3 times to me already.

i grow in my apartment......large walk in closet...which i basically parition 3/4 of the closet off just leaving 2 feet of actual closet, I built a flalse wall out of insulation board stuff at lowes calle R Matt sturdy but light and easy to work with, no tools need jsut a knife to cut the stuff and foil tape to seal it up on the edges, made a door out of the same stuff that is secured with velcro, painted the outside that faces you when you walk in white like my closet, I built that same carbon filter, Im curretly in veg right now so i just leave the lil door off and just keep my closet door open to cool air in there, I got ventilation for my light and 1 hook uped to carbon filter.........best thing you can do is get a walk in closet or the biggest one you can find, my closet is in my bedroom so maintence doesnt go in there or if need be i just close my closet door

Well I Was Jus Planin On Putin A Hydro Hut Deluxe Straight Up In My Bedroom. Bad Idea??
thats prolly not a good idea, and this is coming from a guy living in a apt (2nd floor corner unit) who grows 5foot tall giants and who has a bathroom literally FULL of clones and moms (and huge lights). not to mention i grow shrooms too...i use a 1000watt switchable and several fans to vent and cool. during my first grow (last year) i had a fire alarm inspection, i havent had anyone come in since then. if someone were to come in, there would be a reason - and that reason is probably not going to involve my bathroom/closet. just be subtle, if you wanna do a pretty big grow then let your living room, kitchen, and personal room be clear of anything sketchy. thats just my 2 cents, ive lived this apt for years now.

but yea, smell might be an issue - carbon filters are the way to go.

I guess yeah you put a hydro hut in your bedroom as long as there is no reason that anybody would go in there, that would be my only issue, I guess in a amergency case you could break it down and put in your closet or something then put it back up when the coast is clear

I've heard of people growing in a spare bedroom. The door has an extra lock on it and is never opened, the only inspections are fire alarm which is right outside the door. Nobody will ever go into the room, its a computer room. 650watt grow, hps/mh. It's not in a closet, just the corner of the room. Dehumid/air purifier(ionizer) and a few fans keep everything in bay. The strains are Powerplant and northern lights so smell and size isnt a big issue.

Just make sure you're comfortable with your surroundings, plus this said grow room is in Canada so we still have some rights and freedoms.

This is all what I've read however, just be careful ;).

Hey man just to put in my 2 cents i have a small grow in the closet of my 2 bedroom apartment..now something i wish i would have thought through befor i leased the place was that i have a little closet in my hall way thats exactly 4x4 and 8ft tall thats meant for the washer and dryer. the sick thing is that it has a dryer hose vent already attached so that the fumes and heat can vent directly outside!!! stupid me i actually put a washer and dryer in there...lol! and i just noticed this morning that im an idiot for not going to the laundry mat and using that space to grow!!!:wall: so yeah if you are still looking, ask about those little laundry closets and if they say yeah you can rent a laundry machine for 40 bucks extra a month. say nope but ill take the apartment like it is!!!! seriously im kicking myself right now for not noticing that befor i rented the laundry machine!!

also i would highly recomend. bringing your new neighboors a small gift like a fruit basket...(pun slightly intended)... or jello or some shit like that.. get to know them and be mature, dont throw loud ass parties or play hip hop at 12 at night. help bring their groceries in when you see them in the parking lot... long story short.. make it incredably hard for them to call the cops on you if the smell ever got out of control or if they were to ever find out...same goes with the managment and leasing office.. pay your rent in advance and drop off the check personaly so you always can demonstrate responsible, polite behavior. that way if shit hit the fan and there was a fire or some shit like that and they had no choice but to enter your home they might go to bat for you in court or even hide shit for you !! who knows!

make sure security guards dont see the light... yeah it sounds stupid but just make sure if its dark outside and they are patrolling they dont happen to be by your window if your grow is open or whatever.

Just some idiot
also if you are not on the ground floor and you are doing hydro make sure that it's a leak proof as possible. I can't tell you how many times I have heard about people getting busted cause the landlord and tenenats thought there was flood.

top floor, corner apartment is a good location for smell. You should be fine if you get yourself a carbon scrubber.
