Anything else besides rockwool I can us in a dwc?

I want to start a dwc, but there is only a couple problems. One I'm a stealth grower. Thus being said I can't spend money on rockwool and have it shipped to my house. And 2 Ivan you micro dwc in a butter dish?
So last week a buddy of mine and I where setting up a dwc Rubbermaid table for his grow. However, he did not have any rockwool or anything like that. He did have peat pellets and used rocks instead of hydrotin. Will marbles work? And will rocks even work?

Depends on how many rocks you stuffed in there...seems like it should work. I have a buddy that just uses pro-mix in his net pots.

Yes rock and marbles etc. will work, they're just really heavy, but in a micro grow that wouldn't be much of a concern.

Some people say they just use the foam collars, no growing medum.

If you're making your own bubbler, make sure no light penetrates it. Light kills roots. A roll of duct tape does wonders.
