I recently switched to canna coco nutes. Using tap water which comes out around 0.17- 0.2 EC. I was following the canna feeding chart since it seems pretty precise since you can adjust to your tap ec, rez size, etc...

After adding the A/B, rhizo, cannazym and ph down my EC comes out between 1.7 to 1.9. This can't be right, or is it? I am even giving an ml or two less than canna recommends.

You guys that are using canna, are you feeding this high? I'm following the veg chart.

I don’t use Canna nutrients, but regardless of nutrient line I wouldn’t be feeding that high in veg.

Yeah I definitely don't feel right about it at all. Not showing any overfeeding/burning indicators but still, its bound to happen. I'll be flipping to flower in less than a week. I think I'm gonna reduce total EC down around 0.9 -1.0 regardless and keep it there.

I realize there are many out there feeding over 2.0 plus EC with Athena, Floraflex, etc but I never had any reason to raise any nutrient line I've ever used over 1.4-1.5 ec max and thats in flower.... I usually run whatever line I'm using around 1.0 in veg.

Go to their website and choose the lightest feeding option on their calculator.

it should max out around 1.5EC.

Using Canna kind of screwed me on using other nutrients later. I got conditioned to fairly high EC. I was hitting between 2.0 and 2.4 in flower. Now I'm using Jack's and those numbers would fry the guts out of my plants. I'm currently feeding them 1.4ec in mid flower and that even seems a little hot.

I use the a&b only @40ml per 20l..plus 10ml of cal/mag in veg..my e.c is always below 1.0..I’ve been doing this for many yrs with success.
i use r/o water mixed with a little bit of tap water to stabilize the ph swing..my starting point is 0.2 e.c.

Yeah I'm gonna try that next feeding. I am mixing mine on the normal option and its coming out higher than its supposed to according to their chart.

I was watching a live YouTube podcast with the ambassador of Canna and he said that Canna nutrients is one of the lowest in salts out there. So the salt content of Canna is as low as they could possibly design it. I can see that and I've noticed before that some nutrients you can almost feed double the amount with no issues compared to others. I used to use Jacks even back when it was Peter's and it was always on the hot side.

I guess thats why I'm not showing any burning or lockout yet.

I'm gonna keep it around 1.0 ec in veg for a while and see how it turns out. I may increase up to 1.4-1.6 max in flower, maybe. I think canna coco line is designed to be used with tap water so yes if you are using RO I'd definitely add the calmag. I seen where the ambassador of Canna nutes said that their calmag was actually designed to be a ph stabilizer... According to him, you can also use the Rhizo to lower the ph in range where you need it and as much as you need, as the EC of rhizo is extremely low and won't harm the plants even concentrated.

I use R/O because my tap water is 1.6 I add just enough to bring the ph up to 6.0…as for for the cal/mag I need it because I feed so light and we all know coco is a cal/mag pig.I do push the e.c in flower upwards 1.5 in flower as well.
