Anyone homebrew beer any way to contain co2 from fermentation?

live in an apartment withg co2 detector in the hall and kithcen , 2 grow tents and another for other purposes , i had planned on brewing ale but dont want to take the risk of setting off the co2 alarms with a perpetual grow with mother plants. was initially thinking put the fermenters in the tent blacked out but chances of getting the temps down to 18-22 is unlikely but not impossible. i could run an extractor fan out the window. bit dodgy because it has the potential to draw attention because of the heat maybe not an issue but the risk of co2 setting off an alarm upon opening the tent to feed plants .

may end up ruling out frermenting in the tent for the use of co2 in the plants , but any way to capture the co2 from the airlock in the fermenter to dispose of or keep. for later use.?

Are you sure they’re CO2 detectors and not CO detectors? CO will kill you at low levels, literally pulls the Oxygen out of your blood!, CO2 is relatively harmless except at levels where it displaces O2. I can’t really think of a reason for a CO2 detector in an apartment building.

Phyto is right. They won't be measuring CO2 levels. But capturing the C02 for your grow is still a decent idea. Just set your fermenter up next to the grow tent and run a hose from the air lock into your tent. You would need to bubble it through some water first to catch all the beer krausen if it decides to over flow up into the airlock. Also some setup temp control for your fermenter. This is critical for brewing good beer. Pick up a second hand bar fridge that can fit your fermenter and use an inkbird temp control to regulate the beer temp. I've been brewing beer for years, you definitely want temp control and the fridge with a controller should cost you less than $100.
