Well I have two phenos, one is more frosty than the other. Calyx formation seems diff too but I don't know if it's gene related cus I LST'ed one but not the other.

Anyway, I'm sad because I didn't find the pheno with the pretty large round calyxes like the one shown in the Spring Menu 2010. I'll probably have to pop some more seeds and sex them outdoors, and wait till next Fall to flower them. (don't have indoor flowering room). Or maybe try and flower outdoors Jan-Feb.

Is there such a thing as the pheno with large round calyxes, and which parent does it lean towards?
Or is it simply a result of nutes/growing environment?

Here are mine...ugly small calyxes... I don't think they'll swell anymore.. chopping in 3-5 days :-(:

i think i remember sub saying she has many expressions depending on the conditions she was grown in, warm room = foxtailing and dosen't like cool night time temps.

hmm.. perhaps. Hopefully Subcool will comment.

From the photos in the Spring Menu it seems as if there is an Apollo pheno with very large and round calyxes, though it is kind of hard to tell because the image isn't close enough. That's the one I really, really want to find.

I grew Apollo 13 bx before. I only had one female and it was a beautiful plant. The calyxes were quite swollen when I harvested at 60 days but they didn't seem to be any bigger than the JTR that I also grew. They were much bigger than the calyxes in the pics shown. The buds on my pheno had pretty red hairs. After a two week cure they sparkled with resin and smelled kind of like Fruity Pebbles cereal. The high is happy and motivating. Easily the best quality bud I have grown. In the future I would like to try Vortex also.
