Any ideas what is causing this, white spots, early yellowing?

Its about the 5th or 6th week of flowering. one of my plants that is producing the biggest buds is starting to yellow all over and brown in some spots. others have white spots along the veins on the leaves.

That could be spider mites, i've never encountered spider mites myself so I have no experience with them to tell you if thats your problem, but thats what im guessing.. throw some ladybirds/bugs into your grow area, ladybirds/bugs will eat spider mites :)

Yep you got spider mite man...good luck with that one. Those sons-of-a-bitches are super-tough to get rid of. I am dealing with them now, but I am in veg so there are more options. You may be smoking spider mites in a few weeks...sorry dawg

I also think it's spidermites. That sucks if it is. Turn one of thos spotted leaves over and take a close look. You will be able to see them if they are there(if you have good vision.lol). I have my fingers crossed that I could possibly be wrong, so best of luck to ya. Keep us posted. :)

yeiks.

the above posts are entirely correct to suspect mites. it most definitely is.

Avid, a hardcore industrial-grade pesticide, will decimate mites if used properly.

However, this pesticide remains in the leaf tissue for something like 30 days or so afterward...

I know your late in flower(5-6 weeks), but, if you spray 'em down well, and then

again maybe twice more in 3 day intervals (mites lay eggs that hatch in 3 days)

in order to eradicate all of the generations, you might save your plants.

Well, as long as you wait those days out after your last spray that is...

Your damage does look to be advanced.... do you see webs too?

If so, it just simply may be too late.

boo,

Just had these silvery white spots my self. Turned out I had thrips. Get yourself a 5 or 10 x magnifier and check the top sides of the leaves. It won't hurt to check the bottom sides either but I found mine on the top side. You have to look close cause the little bastards are really small (about 1/64"). If you see tiny black dots (their poop) by the white spots that's another indication you have them. I didn't see any webs in your pictures so I'm doubting it's spider mites.

I sprayed my plants (and the soil surface) with Malathion mixed at 10 ml (2 tsp.) /gallon of water. I set the plants in the tub one at a time and used an old windex spray bottle to apply it. Tilted the pot over at a 45 degree angle to help get it up underneath the leaves. I did this right before lights out for the day so it would have time to dry before the lights came back on. I didn't want any of the droplets acting like a magnifying lens and causing burn spots on the leaves. While I had all the plants out of the closet I gave it a good spraying too. It's been 8 days since I've treated and I haven't found another live one yet. To be safe don't use Malathion if you're with in 2 weeks of harvest. In fact if I was with in 2 weeks of harvest I wouldn't spray any thing on them. I'd just tuff it out and hope for the best.

The kind of yellowing you have leads me to believe you also have a nitrogen deficency. I'm guessing you've been feeding one of those bloom nutes that has little (if any) nitrogen. I'd get them some nitrogen if I were you. Maybe a dose of 5-1-1 Alaskan Fish Fert.

Hope this helps.

We don't mean to be mean...make sure that you check to find out what is wrong for sure. A simple microscope from Radioshack will help you to do that. I am by no means an expert.

ok i dont have enough to get lady bugs online so what i did was; spray the shit outta each plant with the fruit tree spray (wich says reat up intil harvest), then soaked a wrag in the spray, added a lil lemon juice, wiped as many leaves as i could. Then,at the end of the night put them all in a room with window open (its winter/cold) for the night. hopefully ill see some change tomorrow. Wish me luck!

If you want to remove this problem, you will need to kill the plant, bleach the room
and start over from scratch, you need to disinfect every single part of the room, or
you will always get spidermites.

This will also help prevent spidermites, and pretty much any
other type of bug... It is a systemic feed so you dont even need
to spray it, you feed it to your plants in their nutrient solution
and it is absored by the plant and disperssed to the cells of the plant
and anything that eats the plant ingest neem oil, 100% organic,
OMRI certified... it is the bomb
