i have a plant that is about 4 or 5 days into flowering, and i can see its having some nutrient deficiencies, ill get some pictures up soon. It is in a small pot of miracle grow potting mix, sphagnum peat moss, and pearlite. i will be putting it in a large pot soon with fresh soil so that might help, but is there anything else i can use until i can get nutes?

on a side note what nutrients should i be looking for, and im not thinking brand names im thinking N-P-K

do you mean general purpose soil?

i was thinking of using miracle grow 15-30-15 and using it sparingly. ive heard mixed opinions on it, but like i said im not trying to grow the worlds greatest nugs. thatll come with more experience.

i have miracle grow all purpse soil, and i can get either the 2-7-7 or the schultz 10-54-10. what should i use for micronutrients?

Bro, I can tell just by these couple posts that you're not ready to grow anything.

If you absolutely feel the necessity though, banana peels for potassium. Epsom salts for magnesium. Crushed egg shells for calcium. Coffee grounds for nitrogen. Dog shit from the back yard for all of the above. All will take several months to break down and become available to the roots.

You'd be better off going to walmart and spending $3 for a bottle general purpose plant fertilizer. There's one in a purple bottle from MG that is 7-7-7 and will be OK for your use.

Also, Go browse the regular gardening and horticulture sites for more info.

Good Luck! And most of all, have fun!

edit: epsom salts are available immediately.

Epsome salt 5ml per gallon. Boil egg shells, strain thru a coffie filter and you got a organic cal suppliment. Mix used coffie grounds into soil, there high in nitrogen. Mix wood ash into soil, there high in P-K.

DO NOT use miracle grow. its fucking garbage it causes stress and lockout. If you use miracle grow eather your plant will die or be stunted. guarenteed!

hey what nutes are you using for flowering? is it the 15-30-15? what kind of proportions are you mixing it with your plants water?

i think i am. granted im not ready to grow anything killer, but im a learn by doing sort of guy you know? im going to pick up some schultz cactus feed 2-7-7 because from what i understand you want less nitrogen during flowering. definately a budget grow.

Miracle grow 15-30-15 at only 5ml per gallon has a ppm of 536 without takeing trace into account. I wouldent risk useing it indoors. A high ppm like that used indoors in a closed growing medium (bucket, maxipot, whatever) will cause lockout due to salt build up in the growing media.

BING...dude saying 536ppm is too high LOL...jesus man then I guess I'm frying my plants with the 1200ppm i'm shoving down in the soil at the moment...oh wait no I'm not...its working great :D

The 2-7-7 shultz cactus food should say it includes 7 micronutrients...been working great for me...and when i said 10-10-10 i meant fertilizer....there are some cheap water soluble granules at walmart that have either a 10-10-10 or 20-20-20 rating...if you've got good soil to start with you shouldn't need anything for veg...and when you start getting into flowering using the shultz feed + the 10-10-10 is a goodish ratio of nutrients and cheap for flowering :)

Wood ash will eff up your ph if you're not real careful. Very, very alkaline.
