Any circulation fan pros in the house?

I have a 5' x 10' tent and I'm wasting space with the fans I already have. I use two 18" free standing circulation fans that extend to 40" high. I keep one on each side of the tent.

The problem is the bottom of the stand is huge and takes up a huge area. I lose 14" x 5 feet on each side of the tent. What I need are fans that will still circulate the air at the tops of the plants nicely while not getting too much in the way. I need that space to create room for my girls so they can get more light. I have two 1000 watt lights in there and I'm wasting too much space.

I don't want to decrease plants nor get smaller lights (for the clowns out there :-P )

Who knows about good fans for tents?

Nice vid bro :hump:

I also looked thru your thread. There is a ton to read and a lot of it is good material.

After viewing the video a few times it looks like each fan is attached to a 1" x 6" plank that is somehow rigged into the tent. I looked at my tent and the only thing I could see is that you tucked the planks behind the bars on the top and bottom of your tent.

Is this correct? Did you use anything else on the plank to keep it sturdy? I also notice that your pipes are much stronger than the ones for my Darkroom. Mine sag and bend at the smallest amount of pressure.

Are those fans 12", 16" or 18"? I gotta give this a try for sure. Would save a ton of space if I can make it sturdy enough to hold the wall fans.

Thanks for the reply :-o

Yes they are 1x6 pine. I will paint them white in the near future.

Up at the very top, I put 2 small drywall screws coming off each sides. These act like little hooks. I used 2 zip-ties to strap it to the bar at the top. I measured it first, and the hardware store cut them to length ;) I left them slightly loose and the whole thing slides back and forth.

If you use 1" board, make sure you don't mount anything to it with screws longer than 1" because you will tear your tent.

I've found that turning 1 fan up higher than the other fan improves overall circulation. Otherwise they kinda cancel each other out fairly often.

Oh shit man that is tight!

Still, I'm worried that my crappy ass pipes in my Darkroom wont be sturdy enough but either way I'm gonna give this a go.

Thanks for taking the time to post that pic rubber!

I assume you used the zip ties to tighten the plank to the bottom also. Your fans don't move at all?

Actually, there is nothing holding the bottom. It hasn't been a problem. The fans don't move the plank at all ... people bumping into the mf do though ;)

I'm loving your thread right now :bigjoint:

Excellent reading. Seems like you, Smith and lazer got this thing going on. Very interesting stuff. I have the Darkroom 300w for 2 years now and she is starting to show her age. I need to replace it soon with the upgraded units.

Have you seen the new replacements for the Darkrooms? Not the GrowLabs. Secret Jardin makes a whole new lineup of grow rooms now that are unbelievable but the prices are thru the roof. Lemme get a link

Freaking unbelievable prices for this upgrade but I bet these bars can hold my fat ass up :bigjoint:

 Over SIXTEEN HUNDO? Holy Mother of Sweet Ganja! Ouch, that hurts just thinking about. I thought 6½ bills for mine was steep .... fuuuuck. It's nice, no doubt! That extra 5" in height could be valuable right about now. Too rich for my big broke ass though.

I could add a whole second story on the garage for $1600!:weed:
