Another lighting question......

OK. I have 3 plants that i am growing to keep as mothers. eventually i would like to have 5 or 6. They are kept in a closet where venting isnt bad but its not great either. I am very new at this. They are currently under a 200 watt compact fluorescent that i thought was a MH!! haha. They look in good condition but im worried they will need much more. i see alot of people using 400 watt MH but i feel like that would be too much and create too much heat. please help me out!! how long will the CF light hold me off for without harming the plant?? :wall: :dunce: :?::?:

You can use the 200 watt cfl while the plants are small but once they have pretty much matured you should switch over to at least a 250watt mh, especially if you plan on having 5 or 6 plants. If heat was a problem that i couldnt control then i would stick with the cfls. I am not sure on how many you'd actually need but id have at the least one 200 watt cfl per plant... Id just check some other threads about growing with cfls. That should help you out.
