Another c02 question...

My buddy has been doing a lot of reading about supplementing c02 into his grow however, he's using a scrubbing system AND a/c unit (window a/c) on his cabinet.

From what he's read, it seems as if a window a/c is the right choice for losing little c02, due to exhausting.

Following are pics of his setup, any suggestions on whether this is feasible are greatly appreciated.

#1 in this pic is the air intake for the scrubber system. It circulates from inside of the cabinet directly to the air cooled lamp, #2 in the pic. From there, it moves over the lamp and back down to the other side of the cabinet, #3, where it re-enters the cabinet at #4 (a carbon scrubber). This scrubber venting is on 24hrs and the cabinet is sealed fairly tight EXCLUDING the squirrel fan and the window a/c.

According to the following image, the window a/c should recirculate most of it's cooling air from within the cabinet and allow very little exhausting of inside air to the outside.

Is my buddy right in his thinking here? If he were to supplement with c02 bottle would it be a waste if the system is not on a timer which switched off the a/c unit during c02 flooding? The area is 24" deep, 36" wide and 42" tall so it's not a hell of a large area. Ideally, he would like to dial in the proper c02 and keep it on the during the full light cycle.

Cooling in this system is EXCELLENT. He can dial in any number on the window a/c unit and keep the cabinet in a range of 5 degrees with the system on the "cool" setting leaving the window a/c fan blowing 24/7. Setting the window a/c unit "energy save" shuts off the a/c fan when cooling is not on, but the temps range range between 10 degrees and it cycles on every 10 minutes or so. Because of the constant cycling, he chooses to leave the a/c set to "cool" mode.

Thanks in advance!
