Am I right assuming this is light burn?

Growing under a QB. It’s a Fast Buds GSC auto at day 37. Have a total of 3 growing and the other two aren’t this sensitive to the height. This is my only plant I have that is showing what I think is light stress. Temps are usually at 79f. Been feeding and watering at 6.4-6.6ph and never over 430ppm. Growing in FFOF with perlite and dolomite lime. This plant has been getting the same routine as the other two GSC’s I have. The only thing I can think is the light.

Another weird thing is that this plant hasn’t started to preflower yet at day 37. Where my other two GSC’s which are ahead of this by 6 days are all well into preflower. Not sure if the light stress caused it to slow down a bit and stall out.

Yeah they are a little bit. They don’t feel “soft” like a healthy leaf. And Fox Farms Big Bloom and Grow Big with CalMag.
Mixing in about 25% strength to get ~430 ppm. Last feeding was with 4000ml of total water ph’d to 6.55. It’s in a 5 gallon container.
 
Might wanna back of the bottle feeding for a bit. FFOF soil doesn’t really need anything additional nutrient wise. Just Ph water to 6.5 and you should be good.

cool thanks for the advice. It was due for water so I went ahead and flushed it with a bit more water than usual ph’d to ~6.5. 2 gallons of water vs the usual 1 gallon.

I think I got a little over eager and gave it nutrients earlier this week when I should of waited another week or so. I timed my other plants right, but this one guess it was a bit different. Shoulda known better with FFOF.

Also just to learn a bit more if you don’t mind, what were the indicator(s) that lead you to that diagnosis? The fading on the leaves I didn’t see when googling nutrient burns, so it never came to mind but now I see the dark green and turned down tips that seem to indicate it. I guess I just assumed that weird leaf discoloration was from the light, especially since I’ve seen some light stressed plants under LED’s (QB’s specifically) that also had the slightly yellow/light green tips on the younger leaves at the top. The plant has grown a bit over the last week, and it’s bigger than my other two even being the youngest, but it’s past the preflower day that my other plants started at. I wonder if I slowed that down any from the high level of nutrients.
 
Okay so there are a lot of factors. First my deduction came from experience, and I use QBs, and you can burn easily. Your Plants are very DARK green, with yellowing tips and thats an instant sign if lots of N. Cal mag def and light burn can look similar. I never asked if you're using RO water, or where its coming from and thats my bad, I'll own that. Could be for sure if RO water. FFOF has lots of nutes on its own. I have used FF trio in the past, good stuff. Often our tap/well water has enough cal mag, but some strains need more.

I think she's OK, just watch closely and ease back on nutes for a bit. If your worried about cal mag, a small amount is ok but that's it. She will do fine with some nutes, shes fucked if she gets too much. You will learn that with rich soils as a noob. I use plain top soil...$3 bag with perlite and add my nutes as i go. Even with that shes good to 3-4" before I fert...lightly...to start.

I’m using tap but it’s about 110ppm so I do give CalMag every now and again but about 3ml per gal.

I’ll know for the next run, and yeah I think she’ll be okay. I flushed her a bit earlier, and got runoff to about 200ppm. I’ll just leave it at that and give water only for a few weeks. Thank for the info. Helps a ton.

It's been about 14 hours since I flushed yesterday evening and the plant is already showing signs of improvement. The leaves are loosing that 'dry and crunchy' feeling and are stating to feel softer again. I have also noticed not as many leaf tips turning down. Thanks for the advice from the both of you, if it hadn't been for the advice, I would of just kept assuming it was light burn, and eventually she woulda been RIP.

I am hypothesizing that the additional CalMag (2-0-0) I have been giving about once to twice a week for the last 2 weeks has been slowly building nitrogen levels in this plant. I am not sure why my other plants are not showing signs of nutrient toxicity, but this plant pheno could just be more sensitive. The other plants are in preflower and flower, so it's possible that they've gotten to a point where they can handle a higher PPM feed and are largely unaffected. Regardless, a huge learning point and I am glad I can reach out online and get some solid advice. Happy growing everyone!

I'll take it. I fully expected mistakes! I am learning that there are just some things that I won't know until I've experienced them, no matter what and how much I read. Appreciate the info once again, happy growing man!
