my trichs are probably about 80-90 percent amber colored, can i flush now or should i wait til 100 percent? does it make that big of a difference? also i have 2 plants that the trichs are all white, they are the same age as all the other plants, are they ready to flush as well?

popular belief is milky white trich's produce more of an upper head/sativa effect with amber leaning to a more indica/body/all over effect. I personally chop when the preponderance of trich's are milky white and juuuuuuuuuuuuuust starting to show some amber. I would suggest chopping earlier rather than later ... if you allow the plant to go 100% amber it's possible and actually likely that some of the older trichs, which have been amber longer, will begin to suffer and move past the stage of ripeness considered to be ideal, resulting in a loss of potency. Like I said, I pick when the plants going from white to amber instead of waiting for the plant to be amber going to shit. This is what I would do if I were you, this is the 48 pre-chop routine I've used for years and it works like a charm: Give the plants just clear water from this point forward(they should be drinking a gallon a day per plant so it doesn't take 2 damn weeks to flush a plant, couple days max), unplug your light(s) --- no lights from this point forward. None. Drop the humidity as low as possible - bone dry down in the 20%'s would be ideal. Except to add more water leave the plants alone in the dark and in the dry. I know it's harder to drop the humidity with the lights off, but it is what it is. After 48 hours, exactly - chop your plants, trim the sugar leaves and hang your buds in that same dry room. Come back 3-4 days later - if the buds are starting to feel somewhat dry(kinda crispy on the outside) take em down, toss em in a glass jar air tight.

At this point u can start to puff on ur stuff somewhat, although 30 days are curing is recommended. To cure just lightly place your stuff in mason jars and open em once a day so the moisture can escape.

I know it's a big thing, chopping. You've put your heart and soul into em'. But it's really easy and really fun ... except, you have to kill something you love in the process. I've never, ever ... put sheers through the base of a plant I've nurtured and not felt an acute sense of sadness ..... which quickly passes for obvious reasons lol.

good luck man ... let us see those manicured buds when you get em clipped!

Ditto to what was said above. If you want a clear high from your buds , then harvest in the next 2 or 3 days. Wait longer and the taste will improve . However, potency will lend itself to a more a head/body high. A sample nug taken at 47 of 12/12 and the high was as clear and up as is possible with this plant. Now, a similar bud taken at day 60 12/12 and more body was evident . Also a little bit more of a hangover the next morning. So , for me I am erring on the side and harvesting when clear and milky. Far better than having too much amber in the trics. All a matter of preference . Just harvest when the trics are looking how you want them .
