I totally agree, growing cannabis is not a difficult proposition and I believe that learning how to do it before you begin, will teach a person how to not 'love their plants to death'. Nothing has harmed and/or killed more plants then new growers buying everything under the sun, using 13 different additives and feed solutions and then wondering why they have shriveled stems in their pots.

Please take the time to read, study, plan, and act BEFORE germinating a seed.

In the Newbie forum stickies you will see a thread called Grow videos. It is several how to videos from master growers a great place to start. Then when you are ready too start you can ask pertinent questions about your 1st SUCCESSFUL grow!

Seeds are pretty hard to fuck up and grow REALLY slow in the beginning. Plant some seeds, then spend the next three weeks learning.

Looks like a good light, make sure to get MH and HPS.

Home Depot sells giant bails of pete moss for damn near nothing, add some perlite to it and your good to go. http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc1v/R-100626048/h_d2/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10051&catalogId=10053

You can get perlite at home depot, but it is WAY cheaper Agway, because you can buy a huge bag.

Walmart has reusable shopping bags for $.50 - they hold like 3-4 gallons and make great pots.

Pretty much all you need to start out is peat moss, perlite, a light, Dyna-Gro Grow, a measuring cup, some shopping bags and a PH test kit. All you do is plant the seeds, let them get a week or two old, then start watering them with Dynagro every other watering. Use like 10-15ml of Dynagro Grow every other watering, and make sure it has a PH of 6 before you use it.

If you underfeed, the lower leaves will start to turn yellow and fall off, if you over-feed the plants will turn real dark green and start to get marks on the leaves / tips. It's pretty hard to fuck up once you get the hang of it...
