Am i gettting to hot???

so I turned on my 400w MH last night and slowly watched the room temp raise to 85 degree's ... I'm thinking this is too hot for my girls... I'm thinking that this is during the winter or at least during a cold month next month the temps are going to rise dramatically... should I consider CO2 ?

some strains actually prefer that temp, anyone that I've used 85 is usually the tipping point I'll start to see heat stress.. I would start trying to think of a better setup, you either need more inlet/outlet fans for ventilation, cool tube your light, or a bigger area.. I dont believe CO2 will help you out too much

actually co2 was first brought into growing indoors to deal with heat issues. co2 causes the stoma (the little opening on the leaf that absorbs light) to stay open. high temps cause the stoma to close. A closed stoma cant uptake light and photosynthesis cannot take place with out light being absorbed threw the stomas...

anywho enuff history and biology... 85 is way high i get nervous /w anything arround and above 80. co2 is pricey and wont solve ur issue very well. look into air cooling your 400, better exaust, and getting an a/c in the room. if there isnt a window near by there are portable a/c units...pry wana do all 3..itz gana be a hot ass summer.

actually co2 would be perfect. 85 is what you need to run co2. you would have to have a closed enviro, and would be helpful to run an air cooled hood.

good luck, happy growing

I have a wall that goes directly into my garage... so I'm thinking about an a/c unit that has the hose vents also adding a cool tube since Im thinking about bumping up the juice since I just added a couple more girls.. thanks for the advice ... any recommendations on ideal temp?

cool tube is the way the to go, I just constructed a cooltube for one of my 400w to see the difference.. I used a bake-a-round haha old school baking equipment but does awsome with a 400w hps.. My tops are about 5-6inches from the light they can pretty much touch the glass but I get to paranoid they'll burn

never goes above 75 in my flower room
