Am I forgetting anything?

Hey guys and girls been a member on here for a little while but could never start my hobby because of my living situation. Now I feel comfortable where I am so I have began purchasing things for my first grow. What I have so far is,
1 4x4x6.5 tent
1 1000w light, (has tubing on the side for ducting )
1 6 inch inline fan and carbon filter
Some other small things like timers ect.
5 gallon grow bags (25) they came in bulk.
30 gallons of fox farms soil
I also got a fox farms nutrients off eBay, small bottles of various types of different nutrients
I also have 2 small fans for the tent.
I'm curious if there is anything wrong with my setup.
Also the strains I picked were gradaddy purp and liberty haze! Any input is appreciated

Imo 1000 for a 4x4 is excessive. I'd use a 600.
I also recommend powdered dolomite lime for the FF soil, to add magnesium and correct a tendency these soils have to drop their pH with time. cn

Is there a certain amount I need to purchase that I could premix with the soil? I also had some black cow soil I was going to mix with this ff soil to stretch it a little further. Is that okay or no?

I'm not familiar with Black Cow. I can't imagine it'd hurt, though.
As for amending the FF, about two tablespoons per gallon ( a scant cup for the whole bag) should be about right. If you use "regular" and not dolomite lime, you might need to keep a real eye out for Mg deficiency. This is easily treated with a solution of Epsom, however. cn

What can I expect yield wise from a the space I have in my tent? I would like to do it as efficiently as possible. This will be might first grow and now I'm actually getting nervous. I'd hate to waste my time haha. Also what about the addition of Co2 to my grow tent and what are the options for that

Greensand! Worm castings for veg! Rock phosphate and phosphorus-rich seabird and/or bat guano for flowering! Liquid seaweed all the time! Check out some CO2 generator set ups... I prefer the yeast, sugar, and water every week method... And yes, it makes a huge difference!

And if you can control your temps and not burn yer ladiez, the more wattage, the better... I use 1,150W of mixed MH and HPS in a 4' X 2' closet, and have had SPECTACULAR results, with NO downsides... Only because I kept a close eye on air flow, humidity, and temps...

This was all very foreign to me. Can you elaborate on these things please of you don't mind? And I also how many plants should I put in that size tent before Its overkill? I know all of the sudden feel very un-prepared.

You are going to need 2 more inline fans you have one for exhaust with carbon filter but you need one for intake and one to cool your hood... I would also recommend using Botanicare's Cal Mag Plus with Fox Farm nutrients you need to add calcium to their nutrients

I think I would add a fan for intake like he said. With that light it's going to get hot in your tent.

Alfalfa meal, bone meal, feather meal... So many wonderful soil additives to be listed... I'd check out some different recipes... I dont use a tent... Im a five-gallon bucket guy... They r easy to work with, and plants are predictable in size, even after amazing pruning and other techniques to increse size and amount of top kolas... Off the top of my head, I dunno any exact amounts, but if you do your research, as you should if you expect anything decent-amazing in return, then, I'd REALLY suggest you go buy a book by Ed Rosenthal called Marijuana Growers Handbook and Jorge Cervantes Indoor Marijuana Horticulture, and read ALL the High TImes that you can! Nico and the other growers there are geniouses, and I can only credit the afore-mentioned folks for my abilities... And, of course my fellow cannabis-brethren on RIU!!! Good luck, and go do your homework... We'll be glad to help you, but you must first help yourself grasshopper... Lol... Peace...

Dont buy a intake fan unless you feel like wasting $100 dollars. Passive intake will be perfect in a 4x4. seperate fans for cooling the light and exhausting the room would be optimal, one fan will do the job just fine if your not running co2. I only use one in my 4x4s.

You want to pot up so you might want to grab some 1 and maybe 3 gallon grow bags there cheap. As far as soil I went from using ffof to using pro-mix and havnt looked back. Its a soil less medium made of peat moss and perlite. It has no npk so I control everything my ladies get. Also alot cheaper then fox farms.

Even with a 1000w light? I am a little nervous about the heat output from the light but I keep my house so could I figured it would even out. I'm actually really concerned with my soil choice and wondering i have the knowledge to make this as efficient as possible. I don't want to grow shit.

You'd be surprised at how much light your plants can handle, as long as temps are properly managed... You'll never know unless you try... And even if you fuck it all up the first go-round, many moons ago, like alot of us did, myself included, there's alway6s an opportunity to learn from mistakes... But, doing some homework by reading up on these and many other issues is the best advice I could give you... If you keep good air circulation, and the temps are pretyy low in the house, then I say damn the torpedos, full steam ahead... Dont be desparaged... Try it... Then you will only want to grow more and more shit... HA!

I run 600w in my tents and temps are 72-78ish (73-75 is the average), the room the tents are in is 72-73. Im using 4" 190cfm fans in each. Its all about the ambient temps. You will want the room that the tents in at 68-70°s or so. You want negitive pressure and a intake fan kinda counter acts that in such a small area. Im sure your 6" inline fan is 400cfm or so and the tents only 104 cubic feet. So your sucking the air and the heat out of the tent 4 times a minute. Id say your good. Ive been thinking of trying a 1k in one of my tents but 600 gets the job done.

Fox farms ocean forrest is good soil and good to go as is. If anything id add perlite for better drainage.

I'm so freaking excited. All of my equipment should be here in a few days.anyone have and experience with liberty haze?

Never go into your first grow expecting or depending on a certain amount of yield. Even after growing for years you can still fuck up. Ive grown 20+ lbs at a time before and everything in between...the grow im doing right now because of hermaphrodites, too many strains, and uneven canopy will probably only yield me 7-10 ounces and up until my 400 watt mh stopped working they were getting 1000 watts of light.

One cheap but important thing i havent seen mentioned is a peak thermometer/hygrometer so that you know your temps and humidity.

I will bet that you crop at least enough to pay back the money you put out on equipment if not more. Then your second grow you will be better at it get more smoke and not have to buy gear.

Yeah I'm not expecting too much I'm actually looking for advice on how many plants should be in there at once before like a said earlier its (overkill) I know asking for a yield amount is almost childish but honestly I want someone's opinion on about how many they would put in the tent and what THEY would expect out of it (yield wise) is it was their grow.

In a 4x4 tent it depends on how long you veg them. You could put 16 in there and flower them small so they each took up 1 sq foot. If its your first grow though id suggest about 4-6 plants and veg them until they are about 18-24 inches tall. Less plants to look after makes it easier.

With good genetics proper temps and ventilation plus a proper feeding schedule under 1000 watts id expect 250-750 grams. 250+ ifyou have some hiccups. 500+ if things go well.

Here is what i believe will be about a half lb when done looks like. The buds are very dense due to lots of lumens and proper temps. If i hadnt had to trash 6 plants due to putting a bunch of genetic hermies i would have expected a lbsecuredownload-113.jpg

Thanks man! I'm really excited about this. I am normally very good at following direction and doing things by the book so I hope my babies yield as much as possible. As for the strains I'm using Barney's farm liberty haze and GDP original granddaddy purp, any experience with these two?
