should i even bother worrying about algae that has gorwn over my rw cubes. i got them covered and i it was only one day i did not check but they over like half my cubes. Noticed today as i put the cubes into their 4 inch homes and covered with cardboad. Cardboard it snnoying when they this small. Anyway besides too fast removal leavign plants oxygen deprived the only other concern i saw was fungus nats. I can conceive as how they would get inddors unless they are that agressive. Any experience here?

Treat your plants with a solution of diluted hydrogen peroxide and water. To prevent algae in the future, do not allow your rockwool cubes to remain exposed to light. You can make caps for the tops of the cubes by cutting out some squares of cardboard a little bigger than the cubes. Wrap the cardboard squares with some plastic wrap to prevent them from getting wet. Then cut a slit from edge of one of the sides to the center. This will allow you to slide the stem to the center of the cap so it can sit centered on the top of the rockwool cube. This homemade cap will prevent light from reaching the rockwool. On a continuing basis you can add a capful of peroxide to one gallon of water once a week. This will help prevent algae, molds, and fungus from invading your rockwool and reservoir.
