Have a sun system 2 400w hps/mh but it has no glass ... I have the inline fan about 5 inches away from side of the hood up top... Would running the ducting off hood sucking the air help pull it off bulb any easier even tho the glass is gone ?? Thx n advance

ok update lol i hooked up the duct to the hood...not sure if thats how i was post to do it but only way i could fit the shit inside hood lol i should go get some 4" size ducting maybe? seems to have actually lowered the temp by 2-3 degrees and for only a 109cfm fan if i upgrade to something double power im sure it would make a even bigger difference

Well btw it worked u can notice a difference in temperature u can get closer to the bulb now I believe once I get a decent sized inline to replace this Tiny one I should be greAt

What is the first picture? view from inside reflector? the reflector has no connecting flange?

You should definitely see some heat reduction. You could get some duct tape and seal it a bit better.
If you could line up your reflector & fan, I would probably get a piece of straight duct. You do lose some air flow with flexible duct, especially if you can not stretch it out some to get it's full diameter.

get a better fan

5" or 6" something over 300cmf should do a good job

I like a 6" centrifugal ruck or turbo style fan but I normally run my ducting in 5" or 4" just cos it`s easier to work with a smaller you still get a decent flow and you just use a collar adapter.

Thanks for the feedback !! Yeah the view was from inside reflector lol i used what i had haha and i bought the whole setup for 250 with fan carbon filter 4x2x5 tent and the sun system 2 with a bunch of bulbs from a friend i am slowly upgrading i just took out the 6" clip fan and moved my tower fan to the side it was on and replaced the tower fan with a 10" brezzi ozeri fan off amazon for sucking intake thru it has more power IMO?? better intake?? and i have ben looking for a bigger fan and yeaah i have 6" ducting and a little to much of it but im slowly working kinks out day by day

You`ll get there brother it was really easy for me as I do car mechanics and bowling tech and I`ve been building stuff like this my whole life so I just look at what it needs and build or get the correct thing it`s more like science to me but well half of it is what can I find cheaper to do that lol

haha ya im not the greatest handy man but slowly coming around to it:) another thing ive done is close some vents around the house so i got more air blowing into the room from the vent i got lol seems to be way more cold air coming in now when ac kicks on maybe that will help with ambient temp a little ??

Yeah that should do the trick I pump ac into my grow at root zone level means my root zone never go`s over 22c but it`s best to keep the plants over 16c unless at night you want to promote stretching for some reason or during flower cold temps at night promote purple and other such colours in some strains.

Do you know how long that tech of color change takes?

As for the Lamp... You could rig some plexi glass to it? might help

but the bigger fan, and straight ducks... yeaaa mon dat will help

I think your looking at 2 weeks for a colour change I`d start at week 4 or week 6 of flower you`ll want over a 10c drop in temps at night to cause this

All based on something I can remember reading a while back all about temperature and stretch you`ll get more colour not sure what it does for flavour mind, but I`m trying to grow myself some mountain weed so cold air is constant and I don`t care how cold it gets as night as long as the girls keep growing and don`t look unhappy normally try to aim for 16c at night to help get my dwc tanks nice and cool.

Howd the low temps work out for ya McWhippin?
wusup bro , n eh for the most part they are about the same....its been cold so for a while it was constant 80-83 or so all day with lights on ! But still waiting on this damn tax check and i think im still gonna get me a good ol 250+ cfm fan just to make sure all that air gets out lol

if you have enough negative pressure then ofcourse! Remember it is one of the most important factors to keep your hoods as cool as possible so you can get them as close to the plants as you can!
