Air conditioner; no CO2 waste

Hi There

I am building a grow room which will be about 15 by 15. I want to insatll permanent AC/ heater unit which will not waste CO2, venting it outdoors.

ANy recomendations as to the type of unit I want or even manufacturer.

Thanks,

You might get away with one of those window ac units that you can have blow into the room and have the unit suck air in and vent ouside the growroom, preferably not outside unless there are no neighbors toworry about. Lowes has several units on the shelves in the So Cal locations at least. I saw an 18000 BTU unit that might work for you. I want to use a 5000 btu unit for an area about 8 by 6 approx.

think he wants a closed system. so he doesn't have to vent. so like a heat pump. don't know that would help not waste co2. co2 is pretty cheep vs a hvac and getting a room airtight enough to keep it a1200 ppm's. Might be better off with air cooled hoods and limited venting. As I all ways say why mess with something that can kill you fast if you mess up. and you'll never see it comming.

The growroom would be sealed even if the intake and exhaust were outside of the room. Like I said the front of the ac can do its thing in the room while its ASS END is located outside of the room. The heat has to go somewhere, it can't just stay in the room. That's counter productive. :leaf:

The unit you are looking for does exist and it was built specifically for what you're looking for. However, when something is built for one purpose and one purpose only. Products are alot more expensive. Vistit-www.excelair.ca...This company is owned and founded by a father and two sons. It's an amazing product and will can make your grow room air control like a hospital!!!!!! Good luck brother..

I think your missing the point. you can't push air in if it can't get out. If it's getting out your not in a sealed room. I guess ac units have a recrec. setting. that might wok out to a point. still no heat. :)

Thanks for the input. Yes the system should be closed like refrigerator with the door closed. I use CO2 from a tank but the current AC pumps it out of the room ! SO it is wasteful. I want to pump the heat out and save the CO2. Humidity is handled separately.

On another note there were recently articles in High times I think and another publication about high CO2 environments and the benficial effects. I thought 1500 was pretty much peak and higher pCO2's provided no additional benefit. These articles say it did make a beneficial difference.

ANyone have personal experience with this ?

To answer the original question, all two hose portable air conditioning units can be used in a sealed environment, only an extra couple hundred bucks on the purchase price.

:peace:out.
