I didn't bother to buy a carbon filter because I have an Austin Air Healthmate HEPA air cleaner which cleans 250 cubic feet per minute which I could use if necessary for odour control. Right now it retails for about $500. I don't believe a unit that small would do the job though because they haven't bothered to specify the size of room it covers, air changes per minute, etc. If I were you I would just buy a carbon filter for your fan. It's much better suited to the job of odour control for a grow room. If they're too expensive there are instructions for DIY carbon filters on this site.
