After cure... med to long term storage?

I understand that after harvest through the curing stages the idea is to get rid of moisture and humidity is not ideal, but once you have finished the cure and are going to have stored for a few months what would the 'ideal' environment?

I really like my bud to be 'fresh' when consumed and hate to see good bud go dry, yes it still smokes and if it was good before, it's still good, but fresh bud always seems to be tastier. But anytime i have tried to put a drop of water in my storage container or something along those lines I run into mold potential and that sucks. I have heard recently having orange or lemon rind may help and at the same time give a nice aroma at the same time but, do I really want a taste strain to pick up another taste? and I would still have issues with mold from the rind, right?

I store usually in prescription containers (love prop 215) but recently got a large glass 'canning' jar. After a while (7-10 days) in the pill containers it dries up. I was thinking of getting a humidor, would this help keep the 'shelf life' of my fav's up to snuff and nice and spongy longer without the risk of mold?

I guess this was a really long winded way of asking if a Humidor is a good idea for storage?

BTW - this is my fist post, I hope I posted this in the right area. I have gotten a lot out of this site in just the short period I have been viewing, thanks for the info

I Do Use The Canning Jars And Burp Them About Once A Week, I Keep Them Jars In The Coldest Closet Indoors About 60f A Little More. If They Dry I Put In A Bit Of Orange Peel Overnight And That Brings Them Right Back To Moist.
I Dont Usually Have To Do That, The Jars Work Great For Me....dbb.
The Clos. Is A Dark Place Of Coarse.

Thanks for the reply, so is a Humidor a bad idea?

Kinda seems to me that the Humidor may be a good idea for keeping buds moist but may not be the best idea to keep TCH long term due to the oxygen breaking down the THC where as the air tight jars would be best for long term storage of 'thc' but over time maybe not best for keeping buds moist but there are other ways to compensate for this. Am I kinda on the right track?

So if I'm going to keep my buds for a month or less, then a humidor may be OK for this as it will keep buds moist and nice but because they are exposed to oxygen the TCH levels may start to degrade over a period of time (anyone knows how long this takes?) so it should go directly to a Jar and only opened to get what I want and make sure no signs of mold.

Humidor, My Thoughts Bad Idea, Asking For Mold. A Canning Jar Stores Mine Fine For 2mths + And If Dried Prop. During Harv. Never A Prob. Just An Occ. Burp. For A Little Fresh Air. And Back In The Closet. If You Are Having A Dry Problem I Would Just Toss A Less Than Quarter Of An Orange Peel Once Yuv Noticed The Dry, And Check It The Next Morn. Orange Peel Is Now All Wrinkled And Buds Is Just A Touch Moister. Its Perfect ...dbb.

i use an orange peel too... or a small sliver of apple... and recently sugar blossoms from my yard that smell like fresh cut strawberries. iv never had it ruin the weed, the trick is in moderation. just like the idea of "natural" moisture then just dropping water in a jar of weed? but if you are worried about the taste and smell you can wet a paper towel, fold it over twice, and secure it to the lid (not mixed in withe weed!)just screww it down with the jar ring. this will perk it back up i just wouldnt leave it on there very long at all.
