Afghan week 4 flower please help ! ! !

What's up y'all. Thx in advance for any help or ideas. I love this forum and stay on this shit constantly. Really good knowledge for novice growers. So first off I have a few questions and concerns to run by you .


Im currently in week 4 since I switched the lights to 12/12 and i feel like my growth is slowed. I got these two as well rooted clones from a friend. He's grown this strain for a while and the smoke is by far one of my favorites .

Its pure afghani. They were almost a foot tall when I got them so I vegged under some 6500k cfls for 2 and a half more weeks then switched the lights over a month ago yesterday. My cab is really stealth and pretty small 4ft by 2ft by 3 1/2 ft tall. I'm running a 400 watt hps since 12/12 and they are both dwc plants just two five gallon buckets and two air stones and a medium sized air pump.

I'm using tap water with a ppm of about 160 and I used botanicare cns17 bloom regular version. Not the shit for coco, at half strength , its done me well in the past , and cal mag at half strength, only using the cal mag on advice from the guy I got these from as he uses it the whole way thru and he always has fantastic results but normally I wouldn't use during blower bc I'm not using R/O water .

A couple weeks ago I used a small dose of h2o2 29% peroxide I got from my hydro guy bc the roots looked like they were browning a bit. No smell or sliminess just wanted to try and prevent anything from getting out of hand.

My ppms as of last nite were 780 and the temp with the lights on is around 75 and 60 to 65 when they are off. Humidity fluctuates between 45 to 55 . I change the nutes every 7 days and I flushed for two days between veg and flower. .
They smell like I could eat them ...amazing ,but a few of my bottom leaves are yellowing and dying and some of the upper leaves look like they have some sort of deficiency a little yellowing , and they just look farther behind than they should from all the pics I've seen of this strain. Theres alot of bud sites but they just dont seem very big. It's supposedly 8 to 9 week flower time. I know you can't always go by that but just let me know what you guys think and thx again. So if my tap water is 160 ppm and my total ppm is 780 that means I'm only runnin 620 ppm huh. U think I should go up to 900 or 1000 since I'm in week 4 and they were grown from clones ? I fed em a little much the Saturday before and my ppm was at like 1300 so technically 1140 with my tap water and they seemed to do ok and then I noticed the yellowing so I cranked it down a little this week but I guess I'm still lookin for this strains sweet spot.thx for any suggestions or ideas. Could be your water temp is too cold, and you should keep nighttime temps only a degree or two lower than day temp 75 day- 72 night...Plant uptake can change with temperature changes...you may be getting potassium def, or another nutrient that is locking out potassium uptake..not an expert though just trying to help good luck!

Thx man. I have 50w aquarium heaters in my res' and the water stays about 68 to 70. Unfortunately I won't be able to help the temps as its in an external building but the lights stay on at night and off during the day to try and keep the temps up the best I can. Kinda workin with what I got ya know.

Anyone ?? I looked last night and it seems more of the leaves are yellowing. Starting to stress. I upped my ppms when I topped off my water bc they drank about a gallon. So now my ppms are at 960 including my tap water which I retested last night and they're only about 115. I used about 12ml of the cns17 and a teaspoon and a half of hydroplex per gallon to get more p and k . Added one gallon per plant to top off. Hopefully this helps

It's natural for the plant to slow after each 'wave' of flowers. Just like when they're first switched to 12/12 they seem to do nothing for a while. Every plant I've ever grown has pumped out a wave or flourish of flower-clusters, then stopped. Then, when the white hairs on the clusters start dying back they'll start with a new wave. This can go on for much longer than you'd think and - according to your photos - they're only in their first or second 'wave' of flowers.

2-3 waves to go before they're done.

Whilst I'm here, I should add that I would just ignore finishing times - generally. For one thing, you would have to have a grow setup *exactly* the same as whoever proclaimed the finish date, and plants generally finish when they finish. You can rip em at x-weeks of course, but they won't be done then.

I'd guestimate about 2-4 more weeks.

Are you running lights on at night?
That will help with ambient temp a little.

Maybe this will help with your PPM question, or you could try posting in the hydro section to get more views from hydro guys.

Ya lights are off from 7 am to 7pm and on at night cuz it's cold here

Can't see the whole plant, so I can't say if small or not.

the bud looks small/undeveloped for 5 weeks bro

There's a pic of the whole plant. The height of my plants I'm cool with , the top of my buckets are level with the floor (holes cut in the floor I sit the buckets down in ) so I only have 3 1/2 ft of total height in my cab so they are about as tall as I can grow them w/o them getting into my hps. They are about 8" away from the light now, but the bud production doesn't look like it's coming along as fast as it should . They were brought to me as clones and had about an hr car ride then the timer got hit by the light and was messed up for a few days and the temps have started to get colder at night , just got a heater . So I know they are probably stunted to some degree. I guess I just want to know how far along they look to some of u that have done this a lot. It's an 8 week strain. 9 weeks at the most as told to me by the guy I got em from who grows afghan every grow. Just let me know. Thx

Also got a question now . Just got home from the hydro store a few hours ago. I got GH micro and bloom and some hyrozyme and he gave me some humbolt co. Own Ginormous , snowstorm ultra , and crystal burst. I still have some hydrolex left and floralicious plus left I have no idea now if I should use all this shit/ some of this shit or what. I plan on using the Lucas formula for the grow / bloom and using the hygrozyme at full strength and the snowstorm and crystal burst at half strength with 3 drops of floralicious plus per gallon , my only fear is mixing all that shit together and getting a ppm reading of 2000 or somethin crazy and my ph gettin out of whack. We shall see in a few hours when the light turn in and I change the res again. Anyone have any suggestions I would love to hear em. Thx and stay smokin sorry this shits so long.

Ok update, just changed the buckets after a solid days flush and added my nutes. I have 3gal of water in each bucket. I went a little light on everything and still ended up with 1300ppm !! I took some nute water out and added fresh water and let it sit for a bit and rechecked and they're at 1150 , so really a little bit over 1k if u factor in my tap water.




(These #s are total for all 3 gal) I used Gh micro(20ml) and bloom (40ml)Lucas formula ..snowstorm ultra(6ml) , crystal burst (6ml), floralicious plus(6drops) , and hygrozyme (20ml) and 3 tsp Epsom salts. Couldn't get anyone to respond earlier so I just went with my gut and I spent all day reading on here to see what other people did. Hopefully it'll look good tomorrow. Lookin foreword to seeing some comments good or bad. Let me know guys . Thx again. Here's some pics from a little bit ago.
