Hey whats up,
Back before Halloween my wife and I decided to try and grow some MJ. Neither one of us had every grown before so we researched it and bought a 400W HPS ballast and light fixture / reflector. We got a Hortilux Super HPS enhanced spectrum bulb with 15% more blue light so that we wouldn't have to switch bulbs, just the light cycle. We used Fox Farms Happy Frog soil and germinated 10 seeds in paper towels that we got off 420-seeds.com
They popped up in soil on Halloween 2008 and were left in veg approx 5 weeks.
They have been in flowering for 3 weeks now and they have been slow to flower due to the cold. But I think I have that under control with a heater. I decided to take advantage of the slow flowering and took some clippings that I'm going to try and clone.
I'm down to 4 now as the males reared their ugly head. I know that 3 are females, not sure about the last one that is a runt.
My ph of tap water was a little high so I have been using ph down to bring it from 7.8 down to 6.5 or so.
About 2 weeks into flowering I decided it was too much for my little heater to try and heat the entire attic so I used some black plastic to separate the attic in half, with proper ventilation. Also, I ended up hanging my oscillating fan as an exhaust fan at the main exhaust vent in the attic. It works great. In fact I have such good air flow now that I can feel where it is sucking the air in.
So hopefully in about 5 weeks we will have some serious kind weed.
Peace out brothers and sisters
